I tend to use a combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma-focussed CBT, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment therapy ( ACT), and compassion focussed therapy (CFT) to help address common mental health difficulties.
I’m Pritesh, a CBT and EMDR therapist helping high-performing people break free from emotional overload, trauma, and silent burnout. I work with professionals who seem “fine” on the outside… but feel quietly overwhelmed, disconnected, or emotionally flat on the inside. I’m not the kind of therapist who just nods and asks, “And how does that make you feel?” Clients often tell me, “You actually get it.” That’s because I believe therapy shouldn’t feel clinical or cold, it should feel like a grounded conversation that actually helps you move forward.

We can all experience difficult times in our lives that throw us off course. Sometimes we can also feel that we are operating at 100 miles an hour but getting nowhere fast. Stressed and burnt out you can’t seem to focus properly and day to day living can feel too much, affecting your ability to cope. You can feel so alone and misunderstood, trapped within a vicious cycle of negative thinking and self-criticism. Anxiety, depression and low self-esteem can keep you in a dark place. However, with help and support you can begin to break free and focus on your own needs.

I view therapy as a journey of healing, growth and discovery. Alongside my private practice, I work as a Clinical Psychologist in the NHS and as a lecturer and supervisor in academia, where I study childhood trauma and adult mental health. I have training in different therapy models, including schema therapy and compassion focused therapy, and offer integrative therapy to adults and adolescents. I am influenced by psychodynamic models, but also draw from systemic family therapy, cultural approaches and CBT (in particular "third wave", which connects how we think to how we feel and our relationship to our inner experiences).

Working existentially and integratively, drawing on ACT and a thorough grounding in complex trauma, the focus is your actual lived experience rather than a predetermined framework.
My approach is existential and integrative, working at the level of how you are existing, not only what you are experiencing. Rather than correcting thinking or managing symptoms, the aim is to bring into view what has been quietly organising your life. When that becomes visible, genuine choice becomes possible.

With expertise in CBT, CFT, ACT, mindfulness, and EMDR, we provide tailored support for those facing high-functioning anxiety and trauma.
You might look like you've got it all together — success, drive, ambition — but inside, you're wrestling with anxiety, self-doubt, or feeling like an imposter. You're likely hard on yourself, aiming for perfection, often delaying tasks because they feel too daunting, finding it hard to switch off at night, or constantly trying to meet others' expectations at the expense of your own well-being. Despite all this, you're looking for a way to make your inner life as rewarding and fulfilling as your outer achievements suggest. You want to break free from the cycle of worry and self-criticism to find peace.

Whilst I use my knowledge and expertise to help clients consider new ways of viewing the world and offer guidance on ways they may consider changing their behaviours to better suit their needs, I do not act as an "expert" as I believe each person knows themselves best.
I work within an integrative framework to create a personalised program of support for clients. I use Schema Therapy, EMDR, CBT, CFT and ACT. I have extensive experience working with Eating Disorders and have also worked with anxiety, depression, trauma, interpersonal difficulties, compulsions, infertility, life transitions.

You are successful on paper. A high performer, a creative, a leader, or someone others come to for advice. But underneath, you’re carrying a weight. Maybe it’s anxiety that never fully leaves, a relationship that feels stuck, a career that looks right but feels off. You’re emotionally intelligent and self-aware, but that hasn’t solved everything. You might feel alone in your inner world, unsure how to move forward, or tired of cycling through the same patterns - in love, in work, in life. You want change, but not surface-level change. You want depth. You want meaning. And you’re ready for someone to really meet you there.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Counsellors
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
