Creative Therapy Counselling in Redditch
Are you feeling alone, unheard or misunderstood? Maybe you feel anxious, angry, or hurt. Do you feel as though no one is there for you or listens to how you are feeling? Maybe you have tried to speak to friends and family but they either just don't get it or tell you what you should or shouldn't be doing and the conversation shifts to their problems. When was the last time someone really sat with you and gave you their undivided attention to talk about how YOU are feeling? What would it feel like to truly be heard and understood? To be able to express how you feel without the worry of being judged or fear of upsetting someone?

Life can feel overwhelming, especially when anxiety, overthinking or emotional exhaustion start to take over. You may be coping on the outside while feeling stuck or disconnected inside. Sometimes the hardest part isn’t what happened, but carrying it alone for too long. Many people come to therapy feeling tired of being strong, confused by their emotions, or disconnected from themselves. I offer a quiet, thoughtful space to slow down and gently explore what’s beneath the surface—without pressure, labels or judgement...

You’re always on. Overthinking, second-guessing, feeling sick with worry — and somehow still getting things done. People might not even realise how much you’re struggling beneath the surface. Maybe you’ve tried therapy before, but it didn’t go deep enough, or didn’t quite fit. You’re looking for something that actually works — not just to cope, but to feel calmer, freer, more like yourself. Whether it's panic, OCD, phobias, perfectionism, high functioning or general anxiety or burnout, you're ready to stop just surviving and start living.

Welcome. My name is Terina. Therapy is a bit like a walk through a forest that we agree to go on together. We don't yet know what the experience will be like, where it will take us or what might come up and we can't determine the outcome - it is new and unknown for both of us. The important thing is, we do this walk together.
I can offer you my support, empathy and honesty and the space to explore anything that matters to you, without judgement.

If you're tired of living in survival mode, my work helps clients to move to a greater sense of clarity and gain tools to self-regulate and navigate life with confidence. If there is one thing we suffer from the most, it is a lack of resilience to navigate the "downs" of life, with faith in our capacity to grow even through the hard times.
Whether you are stuck in a cycle of anxiety, struggling to resolve relationship challenges, or weighed down by unresolved trauma, our therapy journey is built on a foundation of safety to enable you to reassure your inner child and meet yourself with the compassion required to heal.

I'm a qualified, pluralistic counsellor, offering a safe, non-judgmental space where you can talk openly about what's on your mind. I have a special interest in working with clients with emetophobia. If you struggle with a fear of being sick or feel anxious about others' illness, you're not alone. Perhaps you avoid public transport, stick to 'safe' foods, or worry that your fear of sickness is impacting your ability to be the parent you want to be. Maybe the idea of having children feels overwhelming or out of reach due to your phobia. I understand how challenging it can be to talk about emetophobia and how isolating it can feel.

Life can be complex and often overwhelming, leaving us at times feeling isolated and alone even when we are surrounded by people. As such there might be many different reasons why people come into counselling. Sometimes the issues we experience have clear causes and explanations and at other times it might feel less obvious and harder therefore to identify. What I would hope to offer you is a place that feels safe, supportive and confidential where you are able to explore whatever it is for you personally that you want to address without fear of judgement and criticism.

I am a fully qualified and accredited integrative therapist, experienced in working with both couples and individuals of all ages and backgrounds. I believe we all hold the potential to live as our best selves: content, and at peace. The key to this lies in understanding ourselves more deeply.
Some clients come to me in the midst of crisis, seeking immediate support, while others may be generally content but want guidance in moving forward with their lives. A central part of therapy often involves exploring how past experiences have shaped the person you are today, and how that awareness can help you create meaningful change.

How does art therapy work?
The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.
Does art therapy help with trauma?
Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.
How long does art therapy last?
The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.
What are the limitations of art therapy?
Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioural therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
