I work with wide variety of issues - stress, anxiety, depression , bereavement, phobias, anger-management, self-harm, cultural and diversity issues, health related challenges and relationships, these might also include self-defeating behaviours (bad habits and obsessions), matters of self-esteem, personal development and employment related concerns.
Are you feeling lost or misunderstood? Do you have days when it feels like it's a bit too much to cope with? For many of us, life has not been the same recently. We all, in varying degrees, have been affected by the pandemic and life with the restrictions of lockdown. As a result, some of us may have been experiencing anxiety, a disorientation and even concerns about our overall mental well-being. Some also may have felt the negative impact on family relationships, be that with partners or children, while some may have struggled with jobs and finances, or simply become anxious about the future generally.

If you feel depressed due to change in life circumstances or a loss of someone dear and feel isolated you would benefit greatly by making interpersonal changes in your life.
I believe that every person has an inner potential to make their own choices in life and we have to connect with our inner self to explore and discover that potential. Would you like to discover your inner potential? I am trained in person-centred approach whose main pillars are empathy and unconditional positive regard along with being non-directive. This ensures that it is your time to explore your thoughts and your feelings at your pace. I also work with females who have experienced domestic violence, childhood trauma, sexual abuse in order to support them and help them find their own self thus empowering them to face the world.

I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist based in Wokingham. I am registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council and Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists. My work is psychoanalytic in nature and offers open ended treatment. This kind of therapy is based on the idea that what we experience as a conscious difficulty in the present may point to an unconscious problem with roots in the past. You may find you are struggling with depression , anxiety, stress, bereavement, self-destructive behaviours or difficulties at work or in relationships and want to have a better understanding of what underpins these issues.

Depression Counsellors
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy by depression counsellors in Reading. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
