Do you feel like it is difficult to reach your partner emotionally, are you being stone walled, afraid of conflict or are you people pleasing for a quiet life? Do you have a pattern of being submissive, passive aggressive or unable to effectively communicate your wants and needs? Do you feel like you and your partner don’t understand each other or feel as if you have married your mother or father? Couples therapy aims to uncover reactionary aspects of yourself that lead to discontent and a loss of connection and intimacy in your relationship. We will examine unhelpful dynamics and behavioural patterns and explore where you are stuck

You show up. You keep managing. But privately, you wonder how much longer you can keep going like this. I work with adults in their 20s, 30s and 40s who are holding it together on the outside while running low on the inside. Burnout that crept up slowly. Work stress that follows you home. Relationship patterns that repeat no matter how much you try to change them. I also work with people who have recently discovered or beginning to suspect that they may be autistic, ADHD or AuDHD or who simply feel like they're performing a version of themselves rather than bringing their true selves.

I may focus on the Psychodynamic modality, how past events can link to present behaviours and I find CBT tools helpful at times with clients who may desire a more directive approach.
Life can often feel overwhelming with little time for ourselves so I am here as a listening ear offering calm, warmth and kindness. I work in a person-centered, pluralistic way and am non-judgmental so that trust between us can develop. We can explore whatever is on your mind; are you struggling with persistent anxiety, feelings of shame, guilt or loss? You may feel concern for the future of our planet. We can discuss whatever is on your mind causing you to feel unsettled, just come along as you are. I believe self-compassion is vital and I will support you to reach any goals effectively using various therapies.

Hi, I’m Georgia. I am a Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapist-in-Training. In our sessions together, I provide the space for us to explore what brings you to therapy. My practice is grounded in offering an inclusive, non-judgmental, and holistic approach, recognising that each person has unique experiences and needs that must be honoured. I believe that we all have the capacity to grow in the direction that we choose and there is deep value in having someone alongside you on your journey, sometimes to simply listen and witness, and sometimes to offer a fresh perspective.

Welcome to my profile. There are various circumstances which might bring an individual to counselling. Some people may be aware of the cause of their distress e.g. bereavement or difficulties such as addiction that they would like to address. However others may have a feeling of unease but can't seem to put a finger on what might be wrong in their life. Whatever the reason you have chosen to seek help, I will provide you with a safe and confidential space where you will have the opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings and we will work together to make sense of your experiences.

Many (not all) of the people I work with look like they’re doing well on the outside. They may be progressing in their career, building a business, working in tech, engineering or creative industries and yet privately feel anxious, burned out or quietly struggling, dissatisfied or relying on unhealthy habits and behaviours. I tailor the work to you rather than applying an approach to you. Therapy with me is a process of discovery, gaining insight (“aha” moments), feeling your way through what’s difficult, and doing that work within a genuinely relational space (not AI). Insight is powerful. Integration changes behaviour.

People come to me for many different reasons; you might be struggling to cope with a recent change in your life, or you might be experiencing ongoing struggles with anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts, self-doubt, self-criticism, compulsive behaviours, addictions, difficult relationships, to name a few. I am especially experienced with traumatic bereavement, through personal experience and having volunteered for three years at a Bereavement Service, supporting people following difficult losses, such as suicide. I provide a non-judgemental, confidential space for you to explore experience, whatever brings you here.

Welcome.  If you’re reading this, you may well be experiencing difficulties with your mental health, either because of a specific event, or for what may seem like no obvious reason. There are a bewildering number of options to choose from, so how can I help you? I work psychodynamically, which means not just exploring what’s happening in the present, but also how your individual ways of coping and feeling may be linked unconsciously to your past. I have experience working with a variety of emotional issues and events, including anxiety, bereavement, stress, loneliness and unresolved childhood problems.

I practice psychotherapy, using psychodynamic theory to offer relational therapy.
I believe in the power of opening up, and while I will draw on theory and knowledge to support each individual, I am led by the client and their individual needs. An ideal client is someone who wishes to build a therapeutic space alongside me, allowing me to facilitate safety and build trust. I am interested in helping others to develop personal growth and insight through the relational dynamics they experience.

Psychodynamic Counsellors
Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.

How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.

Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.

What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
