I can offer you couples work or one-to-one personal therapy. You may have relationship and/or personal issues and these may relate to your self esteem, trust issues, anger, parenting, problems with anxiety, stress and depression, or you may just feel that your current situation is limiting you. I am an experienced couples and individual therapist and you won't know if therapy can help you unless you try. It can be difficult though to reach out. You can work with me and I will offer you a safe, supportive space. We can talk things through together. Sometimes we all need to turn to someone who isn't a family member or a friend.

Many of the people I work with are not “falling apart” on the surface. They may be functioning well, but inside they feel overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or as though something important has quietly gone off course. Others come with a clearer struggle: anxiety, relationship tension, burnout, identity questions…yet all share a desire to feel more grounded, connected, and alive. Whether working with couples or individuals, I offer a reflective, integrative approach that helps you slow down, make sense of what’s shaping your inner world, and re-steer it towards changes that are steady and lasting.

Hi, my name is Gordon. Welcome! I am a full qualified therapist working online and in person from my consulting room in Manchester zone one. Personal therapy helped me to untangle my relationship with myself and my emotions from others. The world alone is a chaotic place to manage our own unknowns, anxieties, and traumas. I understand that everyone experiences the world in different ways, so unique problems require bespoke responses. Our lives are constantly changing, so it’s natural to feel emotions strongly, think differently and respond atypically. I help clients explore all spheres of their life to help build hope and cope

I trained as an Integrative Counsellor at the Minster Centre in London. Being integrative means that I draw on several different therapeutic approaches. These may include ways to help us to make sense of your current patterns of relating to others and yourself in terms of past experiences; It may involve ways to understand how painful memories can be locked away in your body. I also bring an appreciation of the socio-political context in which we live, and the impact of structural oppression, particularly on people with minoritised experience.

Hello, I’m Rebecca. I will be by your side as you explore whatever you wish to share, accepting all parts of you and bringing all parts of myself. As a person-centred therapist I offer a space that is non-judgemental, open and supportive. I offer you space that is just for you, to have the time to be heard and express yourself. I'm passionate about social justice and embed this in my practice, curious about how your identities and life experiences are felt and perceived. It feels like a really hard time to be queer and/or trans at the moment, I'm here to hold you and have understanding and experience. You are welcome and accepted.

Hi there. If you are trans or looking to explore gender identity issues I'd be very happy to talk. I'm a Gender Identity Specialist and I've been supporting people through and beyond transition as a therapist for the last 15 years. I’m also trans myself. Gender transition can be an incredible opportunity for growth but can also be overwhelming and anxiety filled. It's normal to feel unsure and want to take time to work out what's right for you. And beyond transition, we can still need support for everything else life brings. I'm neuro-divergent friendly and happy to chat through any needs you have.

Do you experience loud critical voices in your head? Do you find that you make yourself smaller, to take up less space? Do you find yourself reliving a memory, as if it were happening now? Living like this can leave us feeling alone, anxious and stressed. It can make us feel like we’re the problem, we’re wrong. I'd love to offer you a safe place, free from judgement, where you can share what you're going through. We'll go at your pace and shape therapy to what you need - whether thats talking, learning skills to support your mental health or exploring the many parts that make you uniquely you.

I primarily work with clients who either identify as transgender or those working through their gender identity & sexuality.
I am an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist, working in both private practice and academia. When offering therapy, I strive to be non-judgmental, compassionate and warm. I see therapy as a collaborative process, where both you and I come together to mutually agree on your goals for therapy. I take special care to be aware of the intersections in our identities such as gender, ethnicity, race, sexuality, neurodivergence and ability levels. I also value being receptive to your needs and aim to help you navigate any difficulties you are experiencing and come out the other side.

I offer counselling to people who are in some sort of transition in their lives. Often people come to me when they're feeling stuck, isolated or low. I often work with people in their twenties, thirties and forties who are facing some sort of mid-life transition. You might be weighing up what is important to you, and how to take the next steps in your life. I work with people who are often from marginalised groups, for example, LGBTQ+ people and/or people from Black and ethnic minorities. You might want to find out a way to live your life that feels authentic and unblock energy to achieve your goals.

As a Gender Idendity, Lesbian, Gay and Bi-sexual specialist counsellor, I understand the unique challenges faced by couples and individuals in the UK. My ideal clients grapple with issues of identity, acceptance, and relationship dynamics. They seek a supportive space to explore their gender and sexual identities, manage minority stress, and strengthen their relationships. They aim to build resilience, enhance self-acceptance, and foster deeper connections with their partners and communities, seeking to feel seen, heard, and validated in a society that often misunderstands them.

As a trans woman, I know what it's like to explain myself to someone who just doesn’t ‘get it’. I believe every trans and non-binary person deserves a therapist who understands them without judgement. Figuring out who we are is difficult enough without the crowd of people out there who don't want us to exist at all. You may be having issues with your relationships, mental health, or be unsure of where you want to end up. Transphobia, misogyny, or homophobia may be be obstacles for you in your daily life.

Transgender Counsellors

As a gender-diverse individual, why might I want to see a therapist who is also gender diverse?

A trans or gender-diverse client may want to see a therapist who is also trans or gender diverse because the client may feel safer sharing their experiences and more confident that the therapist will understand, validate, and support them. But trans or gender-diverse clients can also benefit from therapy with cisgender therapists; this is a personal decision based on the connection between the client and the therapist, and if that connection is strong, therapy will be successful.

What if I cannot find a therapist who shares my gender identity?

Therapy can still be effective if a therapist does not share a client’s gender identity; a large body of research indicates that the most important factor in successful therapy is the therapeutic alliance. A therapist can also be interviewed for sensitivity and competence on gender identity and expression to ensure they possess appropriate knowledge and skills. Many therapists have excellent training and extensive experience working with gender-diverse clients, and that expertise can be invaluable despite a therapist not sharing the same firsthand experiences.

How can I recognise a good therapist for working with gender-diverse clients?

An experienced therapist should be able to help clients explore their gender identity and expression, alleviate discomfort related to their gender identity, treat mental health challenges and trauma, address existing relationships and communication with family members and loved ones, and determine the next steps pertaining to nonmedical or medical gender-affirming interventions. To recognise a good therapist, clients can ask about these topics and explore their comfort and connection with the clinician.

How might I inquire about a therapist’s experience working with transgender clients?

Clients should feel comfortable asking therapists directly about their experience working with transgender or gender-diverse clientele. For example, clients may ask about the therapist’s training and education with regard to gender identity, how many trans clients they’ve worked with in the past, and what sorts of matters were discussed. You may wish to inquire how a therapist specifically supports the needs of transgender clients or clients questioning their gender identity. A good clinician who is nonetheless not the right fit for you is often happy to make referrals to others based on the concerns you articulate in a preliminary conversation.
