When it comes to therapy, the process can be life changing or sometimes just very necessary. When clients need to confront issues or make changes, this can be daunting, overwhelming or even confusing. My role as a therapist is not to judge you or tell you what to do; instead I aim to help you see your situation more clearly and guide you towards your own innate wisdom. The clients I work with are ready to embark on this inner journey of transformation gaining better self-awareness, improved self-acceptance and greater authenticity.

I have experience and specialise in helping clients heal from trauma and adverse childhood events, navigate relationship difficulties (including dating app dilemmas), patterns of attachment and help to build self-esteem and confidence. My approach is warm, non-judgmental, and insight-driven, helping my clients understand how past experiences may be impacting their life today, and more importantly, what they can do to move forward. Feeling stuck in life can stop us from being the best version of ourselves, and while we can't change the past, we can most certainly influence what happens next.

I'm currently in the Advanced Standing training in Couple Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at Tavistock Relationships, and I am a trainee member of the British Psychoanalytic Council.
I didn't come to psychotherapy through a tidy academic route. I came to it because my own life fell apart, and putting it back together meant confronting things I'd spent years avoiding. I work with individuals and couples in Croydon. Psychodynamic therapy, weekly, 50 minutes. Individuals in person or online. Couples in person only, both people in the room.

I combine Jungian, existential and psychoanalytic thinking with a warm, genuine and creative approach.
People often come to see me when something in their life feels off - thoughts that won’t quiet down, relationships that feel tense, or a sense that they’re out of sync with themselves. I’m interested in how you think and feel. The patterns you fall into, the stories you tell yourself, the ways you’ve learned to get through. Together, we’ll look at those closely - what makes sense, what doesn’t, and what might need to shift.

Pregnancy, birth or early parenthood can feel very different from what you imagined. A birth experience might have stayed with you, or you may seem fine outwardly while feeling anxious or overwhelmed inside. You might also be someone who supports families through these moments and feels the emotional strain of the work. My years in midwifery mean I know this world from the inside, and that lived experience guides how I support people. Together, we take the time to understand what’s beneath the surface, so what you’re carrying starts to feel a little less solitary.

Even though you are looking for a psychotherapist or coach who specialises in working with neurodivergent people, your identity may not be the central reason for seeking a therapist. You can arrive presenting with anything that is part of human experience or life. Yet, the importance of choosing an autistic psychotherapist is that there will be understanding of sensory and processing differences and many shared understanding. This means that wrong assumptions about how you ‘should be’ aren’t made, you won't be misread, and, consequently, the work will have meaning and usefulness for you. Adult individuals and couples are welcome.

Being human can be messy. Life asks a lot of us. We navigate pressure, change, responsibility, and uncertainty about our bodies, relationships, and futures. It can be overwhelming, anxiety producing, and at times, isolating. Therapy is a place to pause and make sense of things together.

Are you feeling stuck, unheard, anxious-then I hope we can work together. My work is principally founded in exploring how our early experiences, and relationships influence how we feel and relate today including how culture, identity, race, gender, and family dynamics shape emotional life causing individuals to be silenced, shamed and estranged. I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist and counsellor offering a reflective and culturally sensitive space for supporting all adults who want to understand themselves more deeply. I have worked in a range of clinical settings including The Priory Hospital, NHS Talking Therapies and Age UK.

I can assist you in gaining insight & understanding into your history to help you make clearer decisions about your future. As we work together to understand the way you are, the easier it will be for you to make decisions to make your life, career and relationships happier, more balanced and more empowered. In therapy you will have a unique chance to be authentic without self-censorship or consideration of others; where the focus is solely on you. As there are so few chances to encounter this kind of interaction, this acts as a powerful catalyst for change and transformation.

Does psychoanalytic therapy work?
Psychoanalytic therapy derives from the work of Sigmund Freud. In this type of therapy, discovering buried thoughts and emotions from the unconscious will help a person work through their difficulties and negative behaviours. Research shows that psychoanalytic therapy can be highly effective, with patients reporting improvement in mood, quality of life, and overall well-being.

How long are people typically in psychoanalytic therapy?
Traditional psychoanalysis is in-depth and is conducted in five sessions every week. Today, modern psychoanalytic therapy is less intense and normally incorporates as few as one or two sessions a week. In some cases, positive change can occur quickly. However, if the condition, difficulty, or behaviour is deep-seated, improvement may require many months or years of therapy.

Is psychoanalytic therapy suitable for young people?
Children and adolescents can benefit from this type of therapy. Many kids and teens are often unable to form and communicate their thoughts and emotions. Psychoanalytic therapy uses specific techniques such as dream analysis, symbolism, and free association or word association; all of which can be useful tools for less-communicative young people. Through this therapy, a patient will hopefully make connections between what they feel inside and how the world works outside.

Can psychoanalytic therapy be done online?
Modern-day psychoanalytic therapy is very different from traditional psychoanalysis. While an individual can sit face-to-face with the psychoanalyst for multiple sessions a week, they do not have to. Today, psychoanalytic therapy can be effectively conducted online or by phone. The key is that the individual confronts what is repressed and avoided, and this can be done whether in person or over online video.
