I work as a therapist because of the privilege of journeying with another, often through difficult territory, in the direction of self-understanding and healing. I offer both face-to-face, outdoor and online therapy. I love co-creating a healing space (indoors or outdoors) in which you can work with, and process, your concerns. I’ve been so lucky to have been practicing as a therapist, supervisor and lecturer for nearly 30 years and to bring this experience to the therapy space, along with my mindfulness training. Please reach out if you wish to discuss how my way of working may help you.

If this looks like you and you feel you’ve lost your spark, it may be because you’ve experienced lots of difficulties building up over time, or maybe there has been a major life event such as a serious health diagnosis for you or someone close, a breakdown in a relationship, or the death of someone significant
if this sounds like you, I can help you work out how your life has become like this, which can help you start to feel like the weight of it is lifting from you. People often say they feel lighter, feel calmer and they notice there are more moments of fun and laughter finding their way back into their life.

With experience both as a psychotherapist-in-training and client, I regard trust and a safe environment to work through difficulties, identify and express personal needs as high priorities. I therefore offer an empathic, non-judgmental and containing space and work openly with whatever arises from the client's life as well as what arises in the room in a gently challenging manner in order to encourage personal growth. I am in the final stages of a seven year psychotherapy training and use psychodrama and creative approaches in my work and am committed to help people access the often dormant creativity in their lives.

Many of my clients, whether 1:1 or couples, are looking for solutions and have been going around in circles trying to find answers for themselves. I work in a way that can help you decide your own way forward, with confidence and understanding of what you might need to change or develop.
However, taking that first step to therapy can be difficult so to help make that first contact less daunting, I will give you a call and we can have a quick, easy and no obligation chat. You can ask any questions and I can get an idea of what you're looking for and hopefully ease any anxieties you might have around therapy.

I am here to support your healing process. Looking for a therapist is a courageous first step. I have found that common themes clients bring to therapy include: Feelings of shame and a lack of worthiness; being very self-critical; Feeling rejected, hurt, and alone; Stuck in relationships that are not fulfilling; Feeling that your life lacks purpose; Traumatic experiences that feel like they define you. Do any of these sound familiar? Would it help to have a space to work through these issues, to let go, and to feel greater freedom in your life? If any of these issues resonate with you then we can work together to make a difference.

Bereavement Counsellors
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
