I have MA in Dance Movement Psychotherapy (ADMPUK) and 10 years of clinical experience, where over 6 years Arts/ Playtherapist experience with children.
Do you sometimes feel limited by words? Dance Movement Psychotherapy (DMP) offers an alternative to talking therapies. As our bodies hold the unconscious aspects of ourselves, movement-based therapy can be particularly effective in addressing feelings held somatically in the body. Dance Movement Psychotherapists believe that changes in the body & movement patterns are reflected in the mind & thinking patterns and vice versa. DMP can help you feel more attuned to your body, support emotional regulation, reduce stress, improve confidence, and help to form a stronger sense of Self.

Working with me would mean being able to speak freely in a safe, non-judgemental environment. Sometimes it's difficult to speak to friends or family so talking therapy could be the right choice for you. I offer you an empathetic and respectful space. My work with you would be based on developing a therapeutic, supportive and healthy relationship, giving you the opportunity to explore your issues, find inner strength and confidence, reach your goals and find ways to experience a much more satisfying, healthier and meaningful life in the future.

I work with children and teenagers, using play, art, and talking therapy to help them express and understand their feelings.
I work with children facing anxiety, low mood, school struggles, self-harm, and emotions they can’t always explain. I have supporter families through divorce, illness, bereavement, and trauma—including abuse and sudden loss. Using play, creativity, and talking therapy, I create a safe space for children to make sense of their experiences.

Hello I’m Jeni. As an experienced Dramatherapist I have found that when things are too hard to talk about initially, creativity can help us to express and process and then release what no longer serves us. My private practice allows me to work online with adults, and young people, and in a Primary school with a specialist speech and language unit. I have also worked in numerous Secondary schools. I have experience in working with anxiety, low self esteem, pre and post bereavement, fostering and adoption (life story work) neurodiversity and survivors of sexual assault

I work with children, adolescents and adults and a range of emotional and mental health concerns using evidenced based approaches.
I have a wealth of experience in helping people to improve their mental and emotional wellbeing. As a clinical psychologist I value the therapeutic relationship and think that it is vital to find a therapist you 'click' with. My personable, warm and empathetic nature has helped many people to overcome the difficulties holding them back in life. It can be daunting to embark on a therapy journey with someone - I am mindful of this and will help you to feel relaxed and comfortable when using therapy for your personal development.

My extensive training and experience ensures I am able to help adults and children with a number of difficulties, including (but not limited to): Anxiety, Depression, Low self-esteem, Loneliness, Grief / Loss, Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), Post-traumatic stress (PTSD), Relationship difficulties (including break-ups), Social anxiety, Sleep difficulties and Work / exam stress
I'm conscious that wait times can be quite long for practitioners at the moment. Having worked qualified over 15 years ago, I've built connections with a number of other Psychologists. Therefore, as well as running my clinic I offer a screening/recommendation service to ensure you see the best practitioner for you. This discussion is not charged.

I work with adults, children and young people who have been bereaved, facilitate grief support groups and provide guidance for families and organisations.
Hi, I am Caroline and I have chosen to specialise in working with bereavement because it brings unique, unanticipated challenges and losses that are often misunderstood. There are many incorrect and unhelpful assumptions about what grief should look or feel like and how long it should last. These ideas, alongside the impact of grief on every corner of life and identity, and experiencing confusing and intense emotions, can cause people to feel worried, alone and overwhelmed. My aim is to share my experience, knowledge and understanding of the bereavement process, and what has been of help to others, to support and reassure you.

Maybe you feel stuck and all your usual coping strategies do not work at this point; Maybe something difficult and traumatic happened that you need to process and learn to move on; Maybe you got trapped and overwhelmed with anxiety and it stops you from enjoying your life; Maybe you feel deep down in the sadness and struggling to see positive and enjoyable side of life and world; Maybe your childhood trauma shadows got out of the hiding place triggered by relationships or parenting or some challenging circumstances; Maybe you would like to build your confidence, get your sense of self back and get the best of your life.
My main therapy model is CBT but as psychologist I work in an integrative and systemic way. I use ACT and CFT approaches in my work. I think without easing into more compassionate and kind self-acceptance it can be challenging sometimes to open up and process trauma or engage in making behaviour changes.

FAQ - About Child Therapy
When does a child need to see a therapist?
Children naturally experience emotional ups and downs. Sometimes, though, they need support from a professional. A child may benefit from therapy if their emotions or behaviours change significantly within a short period of time. For example, if a child usually spends time with friends after school but begins isolating in their room, further inquiry is warranted. Other areas for concern include altered sleep patterns, lack of appetite, intense anger, irritability, or hopelessness, or developmental regression in young children (bedwetting, thumb-sucking).

What can a child therapist help with?
A therapist can help with any difficult experience a child may encounter growing up, including learning problems or anxiety related to school, relationship challenges with friends or parents, bullying, intense emotions or phobias, divorce and family dynamics, or the death of a pet or loved one. A therapist can help children process their experience and develop coping skills in an age-appropriate way

What therapy types are most suitable for children?
Children can benefit from different forms of therapy, including family therapy, parent-child interaction therapy, play therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and exposure therapy, depending on their condition. Play therapy is a great option for younger children who may not be able to fully articulate their feelings. In this approach, kids play with toys and games while a therapist observes and helps the child express their emotions and develop coping skills.

Do I need to attend therapy with my child?
Parents are an integral part of a child’s therapy, but the specifics of their involvement vary. If your child is young, you may attend most or all sessions; if your child is older, you may attend a few sessions or none; sometimes a therapist may ask you to have a session on your own. Whatever the arrangement, you should expect to work collaboratively with the therapist, your child, and your family members to take steps to help support your child.

How can I tell if a therapist is a good fit for my child?
A child needs to feel comfortable opening up about their thoughts and feelings, so if your child feels a sense of comfort, ease, and trust with their therapist, that’s a great sign. In addition, a therapist is a good fit for your child if the two can communicate well together; a clinician should be able to communicate clearly, effectively, and in an age-appropriate manner.
