It can be scary making the first steps to looking for a counsellor and it also takes a lot of strength and bravery. Sometimes life events can leave us with a feeling of being stuck. This could be because of fear, anxiety, stress or underlying trauma that prevents you from finding the strength to move forward and heal. I believe by being able to learn to connect back to our feelings and our true selves, learning to listen and trust ourselves will not only help us understand who we are but also what we want and deserve which is to be loved, valued and happy.

Does it feel as though your feelings are too overwhelming at times? The preoccupation of fearing the worse, feeling not good enough and doubting yourself is tiring to carry around and becoming more difficult to mask. I will do my best to put you at ease as finding the right counsellor is really important to be able to talk about how you feel, gain new insights, understand your behaviours and build self confidence.

Clients access therapy for a multitude of reasons; there may be issues in the here and now, fears for the future or you may have experienced things in your past that affect you now. In therapy we can explore the roots of issues, process what may remain unprocessed currently, build self-esteem and help meet your wants, needs and wishes. Many people access therapy because they want to feel different, to change the emotions they are experiencing, or for others it may be learning to access feelings that have perhaps been locked away through trauma. Whatever you need, reach out and we can see how best I can meet your needs.

As human beings our lives cannot be untouched by suffering.
sometimes the suffering can feel so great that we begin to have difficulty living our everyday lives, and we may find tasks we usually manage, a struggle.
Counselling involves being able to share difficult issues, thoughts and feelings in a safe, secure environment. It is not always easy to talk to those we love, friends or acquaintances, as we often don't want to hurt them, or do not want them to think badly of us, so we all do a good job of editing our stories. Working with a non judgemental, empathic counsellor can enable a person to explore issues openly and safely.

Recognising your needs can sometimes create a gap between what’s best for you and the expectations of others. This may lead you to navigate life in a way that avoids addressing your needs or feelings, potentially increasing anxiety and leaving you feeling stuck, lost, or angry. You might long to feel more connected—to yourself, to others, to a sense of purpose—but not know where to begin.
