My integrative framework to working with my clients allows for a sensitive, gentle approach tailored to each client and their individual needs. Offering an environment which allows the client to truly be themselves, in a non judgmental, safe haven whereby they feel held and accepted. Therefore, allowing them to start their journey into counselling and the self discovery which accompanies it “one step at a time” and at a manageable pace.

When we're faced with difficulty in life wherever it may be from, having someone to talk to about this is really important. To be able to go to someone who will be non-bias, non-judgemental, confidential, safe, supportive, truly listening and warm can be the cornerstone to feeling helped and supported during those moments in life. We all have different goals, ambitions, beliefs, needs and aspirations and yet we can work together in unison to try and make these ideally that bit closer for you.

I work predominantly with clients with complex PTSD, PTSd or PTS and/or neuro-diversity/ADHD/Childhood- Adolescent Developmental Trauma/Military Service or life in general. We can feel psychologically and emotionally dysregulated, unable to control our emotional response / triggers, leaving us feeling angry/anxious/depressed/overwhelmed or shutdown. By helping you to regulate your nervous system, chronic stress activation can be reduced, allowing the mind and the body to think and perceive situations and events differently, which helps us to feel safe and secure. Less reactivity, leads to improved mental health.

TalkMoves, comes from the belief that we all have the potential to grow, to move forward at a pace that is unique to us.Sometimes, however, the path that we are on becomes bumpy and rough, and we find ourselves facing challenges, loss, feelings of uncertainty or a sense of being stuck. Counselling can be a hard and challenging process, it can also be a transformative and fundamentally liberating experience. I have successfully supported individuals through a variety of concerns including relationship/family/work, anxiety, depression, addictions, loss and bereavement. I also have a background of 'Rewind Therapy' for trauma and PTSD.

Being a parent to your child when they hit the teen years is hard! Stop feeling like you’re not good enough.
Are you worried about your teenage child? Struggling to understand them and wondering how best to support them? Parenting is one of the most important jobs any of us will ever do but, despite libraries full of books on the subject, you don't feel prepared now your child is entering adolescence and becoming a teenager . There's so much information and support available when our children are small but it can feel like you're entering a world of unknowns when they hit their adolescence (the pre- teen (tween) and teenage years).

Whether you are an adolescent , adult, sports person or busy executive there are some common themes that resonate with my clients: Finding it hard to make decisions - fear of getting it wrong and constantly worrying/Being less tolerant, irritable over things that wouldn't normally bother you/Needing to do everything perfectly and setting high unrealistic expectations resulting in procrastination/Never feeling you have done enough/A very critical internal voice - Exhausting! Most of my clients want to quieten that negative voice and find ways to achieve and live life without the gnawing anxiety and self-doubt

I have more than 20 years experience working in Child and Adolescent mental health services with children and families with a wide range of difficulties including autistic spectrum conditions, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), adoption, depression, anxiety, behavioural issues and eating disorders.
I am a highly experienced Family and Systemic Psychotherapist who works with families, couples and individuals. Currently I am working on-line. I specialise in child-related issues but I am also very experienced in working with adult families where there are relationship issues or unresolved difficulties from the past. My work with couples, often with a female colleague, is often when there is a desire to improve the relationship and rediscover some of the joy that may have been lost.

Since I was an adolescent I have always had an interest in the way people think and why they behave the way they do.
I am a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (BABCP accredited) offering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in North London (in Enfield Town) to adults and young people. I am aware that everyone is different and no two people’s needs are the same. I pride myself in being an approachable therapist and will tailor the therapy according to individual needs. In addition, I deliver CBT in accordance with the NICE (National Institute of Health and Care Excellence) guidelines.

Teen Counsellors
Adolescence can be a time of both disorientation and discovery. The transitional period can raise questions of independence and identity; as adolescents cultivate their sense of self, they may face difficult choices about academics, friendship, sexuality, gender identity, drugs, and alcohol.

Most teens have a relatively egocentric perspective on life; a state of mind that usually abates with age. They often focus on themselves and believe that everyone else—from a best friend to a distant crush—is focused on them too. They may grapple with insecurities and feelings of being judged. Relationships with family members often take a backseat to peer groups, romantic interests, and appearance, which teens perceive as increasingly important during this time.

The transition can naturally lead to anxiety about physical development, evolving relationships with others, and one's place in the larger world. Mild anxiety and other challenges are typical, but serious mental health conditions also emerge during adolescence.
