Sometimes life can be a challenge and you just need someone to talk to. Are you feeling stressed, anxious, or feeling a bit lost? Through working together we can find ways both to help you cope and resolve immediate difficulties and to talk about the links between your past and present experiences. This will give you a deeper understanding of what you are feeling and why, broaden your sense of who you are, and enable you to make effective, positive and lasting change. This could be through the use of talking therapy, and/or application of tools and techniques to help you on your journey.

If you think you have some long held beliefs that no longer serve you well and could benefit from being challenged, feel free to reach out and let us see what we can do for your future self.
A negative self view can affect how we think of ourselves, how much value we offer, how much love we deserve.
Constantly feeding ourselves non-helpful questions about our achievements, skills, personal and professional relationships, abilities, etc.
There is no argument that everyone has the right to think or feel in whatever way they wish, but all too often we humans are just so self critical and here lies the problem.

The client is the most important person in a counselling relationship, my job is to help you feel valued, and understood so you also believe this. My ideal client will want to work towards processing their feelings, achieving their goals and be willing to work with me to make this happen. I like to work with clients that are struggling with making sense of life. Feeling unable to move on from past experiences, having that space and time to reflect and process things can make a huge difference. I enjoy cultivating an environment to help my clients work through life's challenges.

Hi I'm Craig, a psychotherapist. I provide professional, down-to-earth psychotherapy and have worked with people from all walks of life, in both private practice and charity settings.
You may have a specific issue affecting your life, or a vague sense of not feeling right, but want to understand yourself more deeply.
My approach to therapy is especially well suited towards medium-long term therapy, to help with issues that feel stuck or that you've struggled with for a long time. Or difficulties you've worked on before, but still they seem to persist and return.

Male Counsellors
As a man, why might I want to see a male therapist?
There are many reasons a man might wish to work with a male therapist, including a degree of shared identity, which may help client and therapist connect to each other and allow for a more free-flowing discussion of issues that can be deeply personal. Some men may feel more comfortable talking to a male therapist about relationship concerns, the pressures they feel around the roles society and family place on men, career or job challenges, self-esteem, or anger problems. For some men who have not had a male role models in their lives, a good male therapist may be especially helpful.
How can I find out about a therapist’s experience treating men?
Individuals looking for treatment should feel comfortable directly asking a therapist about their history treating men overall and the issues that arise in therapy with men. A good therapist will be happy to discuss such matters as well as their educational background, approach to treatment, and how they think they can aid a prospective client.
Can clients benefit from having a therapist of the same gender?
Therapy is not gender-specific, but some men as well as women feel more comfortable opening up about their experiences and history with therapists of a specific gender. An individual may feel that they have to explain less background information and be on the same page more quickly, particularly when discussing gender-specific challenges. That said, a good clinician can transcend most if not all gender concerns. Ultimately, the most important factor in therapy is the connection and trust the client is able to build with the practitioner.
Would a male therapist have specific training in treating men?
Generally, no. There are no certifications for treating men specifically, but there are continuing education classes that therapists may take that focus on treating men as a group. There are many therapists who focus on men and male issues in their treatment and therefore have experience and expertise in this domain.
