We live in a culture that promotes the idea of strong, powerful individuals who live picture perfect lives. There is little room for showing our vulnerability, or our need for connection. There is a cultural expectation that when things are difficult for us we should just 'get over it' and not make a fuss, this might manifest in you with thoughts of "what's wrong with me", "why is this so hard" and "I should be able to manage by myself" and so on! You may be feeling fragmented, disconnected, numb, overwhelmed, fearful, unable to cope, you might feel like giving up.

To help with this I offer a 30 minute call or an in-person initial session, whichever feels more comfortable.
People attend counselling for all sorts of reasons. For some of us it helps to have someone outside of friends and family to share our thoughts with and reflect on the challenges we face. Counselling can also be a refuge when crisis hits and we need help to understand and process our experiences. Whatever it is that brings you here, I welcome you and offer you space to think and to connect. My approach is warm and grounded. I work integratively, meaning that I draw on a range of counselling approaches and work with you to agree aims and a pace that is supportive.

I am passionate about humans' ability to heal their emotional wounds when they feel supported on their personal path. We all have greater potential and resources than we think. A lot of the times it is difficult to access these, for various reasons. Therapy helps explore the ways we relate to ourselves and others. It is a journey towards finding or becoming yourself.

I work online or in-person in Bude, North Cornwall.
Are you looking for the kind of therapy that explores relational trauma and how this is embodied, and affects our relationships with others, food, body and self? If you've found yourself querying your childhood, or wondering why you can't seem to feel ok, or why your relationships seem dissatisfying, or why you feel like you are not able to care for yourself or cope well, come on in. This is a queer friendly space and politically liberatory practice.

I offer online therapy to allow us to connect wherever you are, and in-person therapy in Frome.
Hi, I’m Ash, the founder of Sonder Therapies, based in Frome. Deciding to reach out for support can be a difficult but significant step and Sonder Therapies was created with that in mind. Sonder is the recognition that each person, from strangers on the street to loved ones in our lives, has a complex and meaningful story as vivid and complex as our own. This word captures my approach to therapy - a deep commitment to seeing you as a unique individual with your own experiences, dreams, and challenges. It is a reminder that healing often grows from understanding our connections to others and the world around us.

Hi, I'm Rob, a qualified integrative counsellor, which means rather than adopting a "one-size-fits-all" approach, I draw from a range of therapeutic models—including person-centred therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy, and psychodynamic therapy—to tailor our sessions to your unique needs. This flexibility allows us to explore your concerns in a way that resonates with you, helping you gain clarity, develop coping strategies, and move forward with greater confidence.

Life after painful experiences can feel heavy - as if you’re carrying memories and patterns that won’t let you move forward. You may find it hard to sleep, to stay calm and present, or to feel in control of your emotions. Perhaps you long to reconnect with the people and activities that once mattered to you, but instead feel stuck or overwhelmed. As a Chartered and HCPC-registered psychologist, I specialise in helping people release the impact of trauma and distressing events, so they can begin to feel safer, lighter, and more in touch with themselves again.

I offer sessions online and in person in Bedminster and Clifton.
You’re someone who feels deeply, thinks carefully and often carries more than you show. Maybe anxiety pulls you into loops, or old patterns keep replaying in relationships. Maybe you’ve been the strong one for too long, and now you’re craving steadiness, a place where you can be honest, supported, and truly heard. This is the space I hold. I work with people who are ready to step into a calmer, more empowered version of themselves - high achievers who feel overwhelmed, people pleasers learning boundaries, and those navigating transitions or attachment wounds. My approach is warm but steady, gentle yet directed.

You may be thinking about counselling for many reasons, eg: You’re trying to come to terms with a loss, or illness. You're going through a significant life change (e.g., retirement, kids leaving home, career change, relationship breakdown, relocation, becoming a parent). You may feel angry, sad, depressed, anxious, confused, stuck – and perhaps not know why, or what to do about it. You may want to make sense of things that happened in the past, or improve a relationship. Whatever your reason for seeking counselling, it can help you to understand yourself better, and feel more confident to make the changes that are important to you.

Sessions are offered in person and online, weekdays by appointment.
Do you sometimes feel like you’ve lost touch with who you truly are? Perhaps life feels a little blurred around the edges, as though you’ve been living on autopilot, tending to everyone else’s needs but losing sight of your own. Maybe the same situations or relationships keep triggering old emotions, and you can sense there’s something deeper asking for attention. You’ve tried to understand it on your own, yet a part of you still feels out of balance. You’re not alone. This awareness can be the beginning of real healing.
