As a UKCP-accredited psychodynamic therapist with a four-year postgraduate training at Oxford University, I provide a private, confidential space for individuals, couples, and polycules. My work focuses on examining the unconscious patterns influencing your life, relationships, and wellbeing. Whether you are dealing with acute distress or seeking to explore long-standing personal dynamics, I offer a professional, contained environment. I believe lasting change is achieved by working through root causes while simultaneously addressing the symptoms—such as anxiety, depression, or relational disconnection—that bring you to therapy.

Deciding to start therapy can be a big decision. There are so many types of therapy out there. My view is that we all have the potential to lead fulfilling lives but we sometimes get stuck along the way. My task is to work alongside you, creating a warm, supportive and non-judgemental environment for us to figure out what isn’t working for you and support you to find more creative ways to face what life throws your way. You might have a specific goal we work towards or you might not know exactly what you need but feel you need someone to speak to. That's fine.

Are you stuck, finding life hard to manage or struggling with neurodiversity? Work with me to reconnect with your authentic self, the things that bring you joy and not get stuck on automatic pilot, playing parts that don't work any longer. You don't need to be unwell to benefit from psychosynthesis or mindfulness, although most people come to therapy when something gets stuck or unworkable in their lives. Whatever your reason to seek help, I believe in reconnecting you with what makes your heart sing.

Talking therapy is my vocation and professional passion. I am of dual heritage and have a background in languages: Communicating and listening are at the heart of my practice. My training was in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy at the Minster Centre. This approach draws from the major therapeutic schools of thought. I think about what you feel on many levels and help you to find your own understanding. Whatever you wish to share, I give you time to reflect. I also work relationally. This means that the trusting partnership we develop will allow you to notice how you relate to yourself and others.

I am dedicated to making therapy feel more accessible and less scary. I know it can be difficult to make that first step and to move forward and learn to trust a therapist. I try to work in a way that is sensitive to individual need and preference, as well as being open to constructive criticism from clients so that I can better serve them. I want therapy with me to be a positive experience for you.

Life can be hard at times; work can be stressful, relationships challenging and circumstances in the past and present can all affect our emotional health. Perhaps you struggle with anxiety or low mood or self esteem, or a life event has knocked you off course. When we're struggling it can be really helpful to speak with someone outside of our family and friends who can gently help you understand the why behind your feelings and behaviour; and offer the hope of change.

People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons, and often when life has not been easy. Choosing a therapy, and a therapist often adds to the confusion of obstacles to be overcome at such a difficult time. I am a fully qualified and accredited counsellor and psychotherapist and qualified supervisor of other therapists. I do not claim to have the answers, but I can offer you a quiet calm space in which you can take time to explore your life with someone who is non judgemental and who wants to support you in your goals.

Often, individual difficulties are accompanied by the challenges of daily life, which make each person’s experience different and their therapeutic needs unique. Through short or long term therapy, I aim to support meaningful change in areas you would like to work on, with an understanding of the wider picture of how these issues may feature in daily life.

Suicidal Ideation Counsellors
How does therapy for suicidal ideation work?
Stress, depression, anxiety, or upsetting circumstances can give rise to suicidal thinking. Therapy can address the events at the core of an individual’s suffering. Understanding why a person may be suicidal can help the therapist and the patient discover alternative methods of coping. A person with suicidal ideation may be mired in catastrophic thinking, and treatment like cognitive behavioural therapy is a good choice for breaking such patterns. In addition, treatment such as acceptance and commitment therapy can help a person manage their distress through better emotion regulation.

Which therapies are best for suicidal ideation?
Specific approaches used by professionals include cognitive behavioural, dialectical behaviour, psychodynamic, acceptance and commitment therapies, among others. Cognitive behavioural and dialectical behaviour therapies are two widely used therapies that can help individuals with painful thoughts and past traumas. These therapies help an individual tolerate distress, regulate emotions, and not act on dangerous urges.

Are there specific medications to be combined with therapy?
The use of medication for suicidal thoughts must be aligned with the underlying cause; conditions such as depression, anxiety, and psychosis may be at the root of suicidal ideation. A psychiatrist may prescribe medications for symptoms, which may include antipsychotics such as aripiprazole or antidepressants such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors.

How often and how long are therapy sessions for suicidal ideation?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual. Patients may see improvement within 15 to 20 sessions, at an average of 50 minutes per session, while others may opt for 20 to 30 sessions over, perhaps, a six-month period. Still other patients, especially those with co-occurring conditions like major depression and anxiety, may need to continue sessions for up to 12 to 18 months. In some cases, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm.
