Hi I’m Marion. When consumed by stress, anxiety, fear or depression we often feel a sense of hopelessness. I am a qualified, accredited Integrative Counsellor, which means I work with you as an individual and use the most beneficial Counselling techniques for you. This can be by Psychotherapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or a combination of techniques - whatever method is best for you! Together we will find solutions that will help you to be able to cope and have a happier life. I have overcome several challenges in my life and I believe no one should have to struggle alone.

Welcome. Whatever has brought you to scroll these profiles, the right therapeutic relationship can help you be heard, seen and understood. The journey often starts in a place of discomfort: anxiety, bereavement, feeling lost, stuck or frustrated with repeated patterns of behaviour that you can't seem to shift (in life and relationships), physical or mental health problems or the pain of old wounds that haven't healed. These crisis moments are often a call to personal growth and development, and sometimes to find a new path in life. I can offer you a safe and non-judgemental space to explore your situation and begin to move forward.

I work from a psychoanalytic frame.
Maybe life has dealt you a blow that has shattered you, or maybe you feel stuck and confused about who you are and what you want in life. Or maybe, you feel full of bad feelings that threaten to overwhelm you – feelings such as sadness, rage, hopelessness, shame, fear and frustration. If so, therapy can help.

We all experience problems and difficulties which at times can build-up and seem overwhelming in our day-to-day lives. Sometimes, events or relationships can feel difficult due to deeper issues unresolved from our past, such as childhood experiences or family problems. Counselling can help you have more awareness of yourself and the decisions you make, giving you greater empowerment in your life. It may help with a range of emotional issues including anxiety, depression, loss and grief, low self-esteem, mood or family and relationship problems. It can support you through difficult times and allow you to achieve your full potential.

I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist, trained to listen attentively and to pay particular attention to what might be going on behind the words themselves. The past casts a long shadow and often it is in understanding our early experiences that we can see how it continues to play out in our present. Anxiety, depression, addictions, our responses to traumatic events and difficulties in relationships all have their roots in earlier experiences and how we had to cope with them at the time. Change comes from understanding the underlying cause of our pain and distress.

I’m Robbie, a qualified psychotherapist based in London. I work particularly with people in their 20s and 30s, as well as adults of all ages, across a wide range of issues such as trauma, anxiety, relationship issues, OCD and more. Many of the people I see want to understand what’s really going on beneath the surface and find a steadier, more grounded way forward.

I support children, young people, parents and carers, families, schools and communities through an integrated approach using psychodynamic psychotherapy and child, community and educational psychology. I love working with individuals, groups and organisations. You may want to focus on exploring and healing past life experiences, understanding present ones and planning for the future. We can weave between the three organically as I work therapeutically, psychologically and life coaching style in response to empowering your voice, bolstering your self esteem and self care, highlighting your strengths and supporting your arising needs.

We all hold the power to heal but sometimes need a little help along the way. My approach is tailored towards each client's needs, drawing on multiple perspectives to bring long-lasting change to all aspects of your being – mental, physical, emotional and relational. People's stories have been my lifelong passion. Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a TV producer, supporting writers through the development process. I realised how vital narrative is to the way we construct meaning and identity, but also how we get lost in our stories. My clients are often creatives wrestling with their personal and professional identities.

I offer individuals and couples a warm, supportive, confidential setting to talk about emotional difficulties which may be troubling them in their lives and relationships. Having worked as a psychotherapist for more than fifteen years, I consult to men and women of all ages, with different beliefs, sexual orientations, and occupational status. Low mood and anxiety tell us that something deeper is troubling us. I can offer appointments throughout the week. I can also meet two adult members of the same family who may wish to discuss their personal or working relationship. Just get in touch for a chat about your questions and concerns.

The gift of therapy, as Yalom names it, is a personal and sacred journey people may choose at different stages of their lives for different reasons. Sometimes the bravest step is asking for help, and it stikes me that this step alone can mark a significant milestone in the psychological growth of many of my clients. Since 2015, I have worked as a therapist in NHS primary and secondary care settings, as well as the private sectors in London and across the UK. This has given me the privilege to work with people of different paths of life and struggles and stress from personal life and work demands.

Does psychoanalytic therapy work?
Psychoanalytic therapy derives from the work of Sigmund Freud. In this type of therapy, discovering buried thoughts and emotions from the unconscious will help a person work through their difficulties and negative behaviours. Research shows that psychoanalytic therapy can be highly effective, with patients reporting improvement in mood, quality of life, and overall well-being.

How long are people typically in psychoanalytic therapy?
Traditional psychoanalysis is in-depth and is conducted in five sessions every week. Today, modern psychoanalytic therapy is less intense and normally incorporates as few as one or two sessions a week. In some cases, positive change can occur quickly. However, if the condition, difficulty, or behaviour is deep-seated, improvement may require many months or years of therapy.

Is psychoanalytic therapy suitable for young people?
Children and adolescents can benefit from this type of therapy. Many kids and teens are often unable to form and communicate their thoughts and emotions. Psychoanalytic therapy uses specific techniques such as dream analysis, symbolism, and free association or word association; all of which can be useful tools for less-communicative young people. Through this therapy, a patient will hopefully make connections between what they feel inside and how the world works outside.

Can psychoanalytic therapy be done online?
Modern-day psychoanalytic therapy is very different from traditional psychoanalysis. While an individual can sit face-to-face with the psychoanalyst for multiple sessions a week, they do not have to. Today, psychoanalytic therapy can be effectively conducted online or by phone. The key is that the individual confronts what is repressed and avoided, and this can be done whether in person or over online video.
