I support many adults exploring a range of matters (anxiety, depression, relationship breakdown, pregnancy (pre-natal and post-natal), and empower individuals choosing to embrace identity located in gender, sexuality, culture and neurodivergence (autism and ADHD).
How we are with ourselves matters. At the core of our therapy work is you. Does trauma, grief or anxiety steer you away from where you are or perhaps what you are striving towards? I understand sharing these experiences can be overwhelming and uncomfortable. In a confidential and calm space, I will support you through your thoughts and emotions. At your pace, we will understand and reflect on past and present experiences, inviting compassionate rationale inner dialogue, coping strategies, and movement away from shame and criticism. I will not judge you.

I have provided support and therapy to children and adults who have experienced sexual, emotional and domestic abuse.
I can offer talking therapy as well as arts therapies, this could include painting, clay work, storytelling and music. I work in whatever way feels the most accessible to the client, I find that the creative side of therapy can support clients moving through areas they may have become stuck in previously.

Many of my clients reach a point where life feels unfamiliar or out of sync. They may be navigating midlife changes, menopause, loss, relationship shifts or a growing sense of overwhelm, anxiety or disconnection. They want space to understand what’s happening beneath the surface, to feel more grounded, and to reconnect with who they are becoming. Their goal is clarity, emotional steadiness and a life that feels more aligned.

During our lives we encounter loss including bereavement, separation, ill health and relationship or transitional difficulties. All of these external factors can and will affect how we relate to others, the world around us and most importantly ourselves. This may include withdrawing, substance use or abuse, unhealthy eating patterns and other self harmful behaviours. Our work together will be to focus on these changes and how you can develop and cultivate a positive relationship with yourself, and others. I have supported many people who experience overwhelming symptoms of trauma, low self-esteem, anxiety and depression.

Have you ever wished you could say how you really felt, and that someone would take the time to listen to you? Perhaps you have kept your thoughts and feelings to yourself through fear of being put down, judged, or laughed at? Or maybe you put your problems aside because you feel the other person is more important? Counselling is the opportunity to sort your thoughts; gives you time to work out what you really feel, the space to consider your options, and decide what you feel is best for you. People come for different reasons, but all wish the same outcomes; to be heard, be understood, feel better and find ways to enjoy their life.

People choose to have counselling for many reasons. Sometimes we may know the cause but feel stuck with emotions that we can’t seem to change or we can’t understand why we have felt this way for this long. Sometimes there doesn’t seem to be an obvious explanation for how we feel. We may have feelings of low moods, anxiety or feeling overwhelmed but we just can’t put a finger on why. We may also feel isolated or alone in this and that other people wouldn’t understand. Talking through these feelings with a therapist can help to explore these thoughts and feelings to better understand the causes, and explore ways to work through them.

I specialise in working with young adults and people in the arts but am not limited to this group.
I am highly intuitive and attune to the challenges my clients face. Much of my work is through exploring attachments, and working with the inner child. Depression and anxiety are key areas I help with. If appropriate, I can provide worksheets that further enhances my client’s journey to wellness and development.

FAQ - About Adult Counselling
Why should adults see a therapist?
Adults may benefit from therapy for a wide range of reasons—whether it’s managing symptoms of a diagnosed mental health condition like anxiety or depression, navigating life transitions, coping with grief or trauma, or simply seeking support during a challenging life period. Many adults find that therapy helps them build healthier coping skills and better process their emotions, which may lead to better relationships and reduced stress. It’s important to note that, unlike psychiatrists or primary care physicians, therapists do not prescribe psychiatric medication. However, they will often work alongside prescribing clinicians to ensure coordinated care and can provide behavioural therapy as an important addition to psychiatric medication. Mental health concerns can look different in adulthood than in childhood or adolescence, so finding a therapist with expertise working with adult clients is important. Conditions like major depressive disorder (MDD), generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), bipolar disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for instance, may present or resurface differently in adulthood than in childhood or adolescence. Adult-specific stressors, such as job strain, caregiving responsibilities, relationship challenges, financial stress, or identity transitions, can also influence the onset and type of symptoms an individual experiences. Adult-focused therapists, therefore, are trained to understand these complexities and tailor care accordingly.

How do I know if a therapist is the right fit for me?
When seeking care, it’s important to understand a therapist’s treatment specialties and their overall approach to treatment . Some therapists focus on common adult conditions like anxiety or depression, while others specialize in areas such as trauma, substance use disorders, or obsessive-compulsive disorder. It’s also important to consider a therapist’s training when seeking care. Therapists in the UK hold various credentials depending on their training and regional requirements. Counsellors and Psychotherapists registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) receive the designation MBACP and their qualifications and practice are overseen by BACP. Many Psychologists registered with the British Psychological Society receive the title of Chartered Psychologist (CPsychol), signifying that they have completed postgraduate training and supervised practice. All of these professionals can provide talk therapy but do not prescribe medication. When searching for a therapist, consider their credentials and training background to ensure a good fit.

How do I find a therapist who sees adults?
Psychology Today’s online directory allows you to search specifically for therapists who work with adults. Each provider profile includes key information such as clinical specialties, therapeutic approaches, licensure, accepted insurance plans, languages spoken, and session fees. Reviewing these details can help you determine whether a particular provider aligns with your needs and can indicate whether they are a good match for adult clients.
