I practice an integrative approach, combining person-centred therapy with somatic work and parts work, helping you reconnect with yourself in a way that feels empowering and sustainable.
Life can be overwhelming, and whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, ASD, relationship challenges, or a journey of self-discovery, you don’t have to do it alone. My approach to therapy is direct yet warm, grounded in authenticity, humour, and deep respect for your unique experience. As someone whose own path of self-discovery led me to become a therapist, I believe that understanding our patterns—our thoughts, behaviours, and the generational influences that shape us—can help build resilience and create meaningful change.

I also use parts work which is particularly effective with feelings of shame and self loathing and polyvagal theory including somatic exercises, healing physical symptoms in your body as well as your mind.
Are you tired of doubting yourself and feeling like you’re never quite enough? Do you find yourself caught in a cycle of overthinking, overachieving, and constantly questioning your worth? If this sounds like you, I’m here to help. The people I work with are often high-achievers, driven to succeed but held back by an inner voice that doubts, criticises, or shames. Underneath their accomplishments, they may feel exhausted by perfectionism, people-pleasing, or self-blame that keeps them stuck. Together, we can unpack these patterns and help you rebuild a sense of self-worth and inner calm.

And as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), I work with sensations and activations stored within the body as a result of past experiences and trauma.
I know all too well (believe me!) that there’s often no ‘quick fix’ to some of life’s curveballs, but with patience and regular therapy sessions I can help you reach a place of emotional regulation, to learn about and meet your ‘wants and needs’ in order to feel a sense of meaningful connection both with yourself, and others.

Life comes with many challenges, however, sometimes it can feel like a never-ending battle of difficulties that are being thrown our way. Do you just want to go into hiding, yet feel lonely, lost, or numb to life? Are you feeling anxious or overwhelmed and struggling to maintain healthy relationships? Maybe you already know your issues or concerns and would like to explore these with a non-judgmental other and in a safe environment? Taking steps and reaching out to a therapist can be difficult, especially if it's your first time in therapy. It may evoke many fears and emotions, either from our past or present experiences.

Life often throws many ups and downs our way. Sometimes we cope and sometimes it feels just too much. Therapy can help you regain your equilibrium, providing a safe space for you to share your concerns with somebody who will really listen. I know it can be difficult to ask for help, “I have no right to feel like this because ...” is a common sentiment - but you do have that right. Counselling can help you to understand yourself and build your own resilience and long term mental well-being. Whether you wish to tackle a particular dilemma or explore underlying issues, it is important you allow yourself the time and space you need.

In a world where people seem more connected to their phones than each other, it's rare to find someone who has dedicated time and space just for you. Someone willing to walk alongside you for as long as you need to figure things out, digest what has happened, and help you learn about yourself in the process. Perhaps you’ve reached a crisis point in your life, and don’t know where else to turn? Maybe you’ve been out-of-sorts for a while, and need some help to figure out what is going on? Or perhaps you're here because you want to understand yourself better and how you relate to others?

Somatic Counsellors

How does somatic therapy work?

Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?

Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?

Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
