My specialisms include ADHD, Learning Disability, Healthy Masculinity and Migrant Communities.
We all struggle sometimes to make sense of ourselves and our life experiences. This can leave us feeling as if things aren't as they should be. We may act in ways we hadn't intended and that don’t fit with our sense of self. Having support to explore these issues can help us to accept ourselves and experience life more fully.

My specialisms include, substance misuse, addiction, attachment issues, personality disorders (BPD) Bipolar disorder, ADHD, Autism, OCD anxiety and depression, and CPTSD.
Welcome! My guess is that getting started can be pretty scary to talk to someone you don't know about things that make you feel uncomfortable, sad, angry, overjoyed or embarrassed, but i would like to reassure you that this process is here to help you grow. There are certain elements necessary in therapy to maintain a space of positivity, growth and healing, but you are not responsible for maintaining those elements - that is the job of the therapist - my job. It is imperative that we maintain a judgement free space that is challenging but comforting and be open about your experience as it unfolds.

What is brain fog and just how common is it? That "cloudy" feeling is experienced by over 80% of women in perimenopause, but can also be caused by long covid, hormonal changes and even cancer treatments. You may notice things like: Difficulty concentrating or focusing. Confusion. Fatigue. Forgetfulness. Losing your train of thought. Mental exhaustion. Not having the right words. Slow thought process and reaction time. Trouble paying attention Brain fog can be so overwhelming that people fear they're getting dementia or can lead to burnout where even simple tasks feel overwhelming causing exhaustion, anger or frustration.

Hi there, thanks for viewing my profile. I'm a relationally focussed counsellor-this means I work hard to get to know you, and understand what makes you tick. We will use the relationship we develop between us to explore what it's like to be you. I understand how powerful it can feel to be truly seen, heard and understood in the world. This is my main aim in working with clients. I enjoy working with people around big questions, and helping people discover their own sense of direction and focus. I'm also skilled and experienced in working with trauma, anxiety, depression, and questions around sexuality, gender and identity.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioural therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
