As a CBT Therapist I provide a safe and non-judgemental space to explore your thoughts, emotions and behaviours. Our experiences can shape the way we view ourselves, others and the world around us, and can leave lasting affects that feel impossible to break. My approach focuses on making sense of this, and providing tools to change patterns in thinking, building resilience and fostering a greater sense of self-worth. I believe everyone is unique and requires an individual approach, therefore I will work collaboratively with you to understand what you might need in this journey, and to work towards reclaiming your life.

Life often presents challenges that can leave us feeling overwhelmed, trapped in unhelpful thoughts and behaviours, and struggling with emotions that seem too intense to manage. These issues can impact our day-to-day life, relationships, and overall well-being, leading to symptoms like anxiety, panic, depression, or a sense of hopelessness. I specialise in supporting individuals through anxiety (including generalised anxiety, OCD, panic, and PTSD), depression, trauma, low self-esteem, and relationship difficulties. Together, we can work towards meaningful change and emotional balance.

I work with adults who may look capable on the outside yet feel stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or shaped by trauma underneath. Trauma is not always one overwhelming event. It can develop through repeated experiences such as criticism, emotional neglect, rejection, or never feeling safe, seen, or supported. Many come when old patterns begin to affect relationships, work, identity, or daily life. We help clients make sense of what they are carrying, understand themselves more deeply, and move forward with greater emotional clarity, practical tools, and lasting change.

You may not feel not good enough, overwhelmed by anxiety, self-doubt, or trying to always please others. Comparing yourself to others may make you doubt yourself more. You may struggle with low confidence, setting boundaries, or understanding your emotions — this might be shaped by past experiences, cultural pressures, or difficult relationships. You want to feel more in control, feel heard, build self-compassion, and find healthier ways to cope. Being more aware of your feelings and needs can help with communication. Putting in boundaries for yourself can improve relationships with those around you.

We can help you learn how to guide yourself with compassion, acceptance, and awareness, so you can feel more emotionally at ease, build self-worth, and do more of the things that make life feel meaningful and enjoyable.
You might feel constantly anxious - tense, on edge, or caught in worry. Or you might feel low, flat, and unsure how to find joy again. Some women come to us feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns in relationships or worn down by people-pleasing or self-criticism. Others are processing trauma or navigating big life changes - from early motherhood to menopause - that have unsettled their confidence. However it shows up, the common thread is emotional overload whilst trying to hold it all together. If you're a woman who wants to feel calmer, more secure in yourself, and able to enjoy life without so much pressure, then we're here for you.

I know how important it is to feel safe, heard, and respected in therapy. That’s why I prioritise a genuine, human connection from the very first session. Building a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation of my work, and I’ll take time to create a space where you feel comfortable to share whatever feels important at your own pace. Our initial conversations will focus on understanding what’s brought you to therapy and what you’d like to get out of it. Together, we’ll begin to explore your experiences and build a shared understanding of the challenges you’re facing, as well as the factors that may be contributing to them.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Counsellors
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
