I'm a fully accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) with post graduate certificate in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). I am also currently completing training in Schema Therapy. I work using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with social anxiety, worry, OCD, PTSD and depression . Over the years I have specialised in using CBT and CFT to work with people who experienced difficulties in early life. In adult life this can shows itself as high levels of anxiety, self-criticism, low mood, feeling overwhelmed by emotions, feeling like a failure, feeling alone, blaming yourself for everything, feeling guilty and people pleasing.

I offer therapy for the following difficulties: depression , generalised anxiety disorder, OCD, PTSD, BDD, social phobia, panic disorder, specific phobias and health anxiety.
Hi, I’m Hannah. I have worked in mental health services for over 18 years. I enjoy working with clients to help them understand the development and maintenance of their current difficulties, so that it is possible to make meaningful changes using evidence based CBT strategies or EMDR. I incorporate mindfulness and compassionate approaches into my clinical work. I aim to provide a compassionate, non judgmental, therapeutic environment to clients and understand how difficult it can be to reach out for support. I will do my best to help you feel comfortable and at ease whilst helping you to achieve your goals.

Asking for help is not easy but making that first step can feel really positive. I am an experienced Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) and work to help people (including children and young people) who are experiencing a range of issues including generalised anxiety, social anxiety, OCD, depression , as well as low self-esteem and other difficulties. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy focuses on the links between thoughts, feelings and behaviours, especially the way that unhelpful thoughts lead to and maintain distressing feelings and behaviours that can be a problem for some people and their families.

A therapist with a passion for helping adults build self-worth to reduce symptoms of Anxiety and Depression . Self-worth is an important part of our mental health, because lacking self-worth means that we never feel good enough, despite our best efforts. You may be someone that worries about what others think about you, you may fear making mistakes, put pressure on yourself to please others, doubt yourself a lot of the time and you may hide parts of yourself away from the world. The thoughts and behaviours linked to having low self-worth can leave us feeling exhausted, anxious, angry or depressed .

Counselling sessions with me offer an hour each week that’s devoted to you - to talk openly to someone impartial about whatever is on your mind. A safe and confidential space to reflect and explore your world, without judgement or being told what to do. Helping you take a ‘helicopter’ view of your life and your relationships, see yourself from a new perspective and so find a way forward. You will always be the one who knows the most about you, so my approach is Person-Centred Therapy.

Depression Counsellors
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy by depression counsellors in Northwich. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
