I have completed Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training.
The client is the most important person in a counselling relationship, my job is to help you feel valued, and understood so you also believe this. My ideal client will want to work towards processing their feelings, achieving their goals and be willing to work with me to make this happen. I like to work with clients that are struggling with making sense of life. Feeling unable to move on from past experiences, having that space and time to reflect and process things can make a huge difference. I enjoy cultivating an environment to help my clients work through life's challenges.

Additional short courses on: Remote Therapy, Supporting ADHD & ASD, Substance Misuse, Working Creatively, Trauma, Play Therapy, Understanding Suicide & Somatic Working.
Hi, I’m Coral — I’m really glad you’re here. Sometimes we feel disconnected — from ourselves, others, or life. That disconnection can show up in many ways: mood swings, burnout, anger, low mood, people-pleasing, or relationship struggles. You might feel something’s off or like you’ve lost touch with who you are. However it shows up, you’re welcome here — exactly as you are. I offer a supportive, non-judgmental, empathetic, and honest space to explore what’s going on inside. Together, we can untangle what’s happening, process your previous experiences, reconnect with your sense of self, and move toward lasting change.

Stressed? Anxious? Generally feeling low? Talking can change your life. It is a bold statement but when you have the right person that is listening, it can be a real game changer. No issue or worry is ever unworthy of therapy and you should never feel alone or like you have no one to talk to. Each individual has problems that are relative to their own life and therefore my Therapy is not just a 'one size fits all' model. Using my professional experience, coupled with my passion and empathy, every person is treated as an individual from within a space that is safe, secure and totally free of all judgement and stigma.

Hi I’m Chad, Firstly, thank you for being courageous and taking the first step towards finding help, which I know can feel quite scary. I'm a deeply caring and understanding person, firmly believing that we may all need some help at times in our lives and that this can feel daunting. Being heard and understood with no judgement enables and empowers my clients to experience and build their lives as they truly want them.

Anxiety, depression and other mental challenges can be debilitating. It's something that many of us live with each and every day and we need to find the best ways to deal with our emotions, what we are going through and how we react to certain situations. Being the best you is not easy, but you can do it. It is undoubtedly achievable no matter where you are in your life. Some may find difficulty showing up to their counselling sessions, some may think it's easier to talk online and some may find comfort with the presence of an animal in the room and even doing activities with the animal. Your needs are a priority.

Therapy is a beginning, an opportunity for understanding, self-acceptance, personal growth and change. We often do not treat ourselves with the same kindness, compassion and understanding as we treat others and this can take a toll on how we feel, function and relate to others. Therapy gives you time for you, to explore what you are feeling and why you are feeling a certain way, this helps to better understand your needs in order to move to a more fulfilled and happier way of being. I have a particular interest in relationships and how we are in relationships, as this can have a huge impact on our personal wellbeing.

You might be a parent/carer who feels worried, worn down, or stuck. Your child/teen may be experiencing anxiety, big emotions, shutdowns or outbursts, low confidence, friendship difficulties, or school-related stress. You may be receiving more calls from school, noticing changes in sleep, mood or behaviour, or feeling like the same patterns keep repeating at home. You want things to feel calmer and more manageable; fewer crises, better communication & a young person who can understand their emotions & cope. You’re looking for steady, practical support for your child & guidance for you as a parent/carer too.

I offer a warm non judgmental space where you can explore your experiences, be they past or current, and begin to see how they may be affecting your life. I bring a warm, grounded presence and where it feels right a sense of humour and lightness too. Therapy doesn't have to be serious all the time. Sometimes a shared laugh or a moment of light relief is just as healing as tears. I love to work creatively and with, and in nature and offer walk and talk therapy. this can take place from my practice where we have access to countryside and forestry or in a convenient green space near you.

Hello; my name is Kevin and thank you for visiting my profile. I have been privileged to be involved with helping people of Northamptonshire and through out the UK either in person or via video since I qualified in 2014 and established my private practice in 2016. I believe that it takes a huge amount of courage to reach out and approach a counsellor and that's why I offer an initial no pressure, free telephone consultation. This is so I can introduce myself, answer any questions you may have and even try to settle a few nerves. The most valuable things we will ever own are our feelings and they deserve to be understood.

Working with people who have a range of issues, including anger management, relationships, work problems, self-esteem, suicidal ideation, loss and people who suffer from anxiety and depression.
Hello. A warm welcome. Sometimes, we may experience distressing events that leave us feeling lost, anxious, and emotionally overwhelmed. Life may become too much; we might feel unhappy, stuck, and unable to progress. Sharing your concerns, fears, and anxieties with a counsellor can help share the burden of holding in these emotions. I will listen to any worries and issues you may have, regardless of whether they are significant or trivial. Together, we'll explore your situation. I will support you in increasing self-awareness and building resilience, helping you make improved choices and lead a more positive and fulfilling life.

Suicidal Ideation Counsellors
How does therapy for suicidal ideation work?
Stress, depression, anxiety, or upsetting circumstances can give rise to suicidal thinking. Therapy can address the events at the core of an individual’s suffering. Understanding why a person may be suicidal can help the therapist and the patient discover alternative methods of coping. A person with suicidal ideation may be mired in catastrophic thinking, and treatment like cognitive behavioural therapy is a good choice for breaking such patterns. In addition, treatment such as acceptance and commitment therapy can help a person manage their distress through better emotion regulation.

Which therapies are best for suicidal ideation?
Specific approaches used by professionals include cognitive behavioural, dialectical behaviour, psychodynamic, acceptance and commitment therapies, among others. Cognitive behavioural and dialectical behaviour therapies are two widely used therapies that can help individuals with painful thoughts and past traumas. These therapies help an individual tolerate distress, regulate emotions, and not act on dangerous urges.

Are there specific medications to be combined with therapy?
The use of medication for suicidal thoughts must be aligned with the underlying cause; conditions such as depression, anxiety, and psychosis may be at the root of suicidal ideation. A psychiatrist may prescribe medications for symptoms, which may include antipsychotics such as aripiprazole or antidepressants such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors.

How often and how long are therapy sessions for suicidal ideation?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual. Patients may see improvement within 15 to 20 sessions, at an average of 50 minutes per session, while others may opt for 20 to 30 sessions over, perhaps, a six-month period. Still other patients, especially those with co-occurring conditions like major depression and anxiety, may need to continue sessions for up to 12 to 18 months. In some cases, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm.
