I offer sessions online via video and face to face sessions which take place in a therapeutic space nearby.
Hi I am Florentine. Thank you for checking out my profile. It can be hard to find the right therapist so hopefully this information about me will help you decide. My main aim is for you to get the most out of therapy; therefore I will do my utmost to achieve this. I will do this by using all my communication and therapeutic skills, working together so you have trust and confidence in me, to get you the outcome you are after. I also pride myself in asking the right probing questions; for me therapy is not just about talking; it is also about processing and creating long lasting change.

I offer in-person, online or phone sessions.
Hi, I’m Scott. I’m a warm and empathic counsellor who genuinely loves what I do and cares about helping people gain self-awareness and understanding. Because everyone comes to therapy with a unique story, I believe in tailoring our work completely to you. I work integratively, which means we can adapt our approach to suit your individual needs. If you want to work toward specific goals, that’s great. If you prefer a quiet space to reflect and figure things out slowly, we can absolutely do that too. We can meet in a traditional room, online, by phone or outdoors with a walk by the coast in Tynemouth.

I offer in-person and online sessions from House Seven in Tynemouth, a calm, private space near the metro with free on-street parking.
Saying "I'm fine" when you're really not? "Just keep going" got you this far, but something's shifted and it's costing you more each day. You may be wrestling with anxiety, low mood, bereavement, trauma or relationship difficulties — and unsure why the same patterns keep repeating, or why things feel harder than they used to. You don't need the right words to start. Most people arrive knowing only that something needs to change. That's enough. Whatever's weighing on you, you don't have to carry it alone — and you don't have to have it all figured out before we begin.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
