I work with adults and have a lengthy career history working across a range of issues. I predominantly use trauma therapy to help clients move forward but utilise a range of tools as required. In private practice I have worked with adult survivors of childhood abuse, sexual abuse, domestic violence, sudden death, accidents and suicide of loved ones.
Clients may be unsure as to what their needs are, they simply want to feel better. We will explore this and identify targets for our work together.
The initial discussion/meeting helps us to establish if I'm the right therapist for your needs.

I'm Craig, a therapist specialising in working with eating disorders and body image issues.
Are thoughts about food or your body ruling your life? You've probably tried to change before, to eat less, eat more "normally" or promise yourself tomorrow will be different, but nothing seems to last for long.
I work online with adults across the UK, supporting people with a range of food and body issues including: binge eating, compulsive eating, bulimia, anorexia, ARFID, body dysmorphia, and disordered eating that doesn’t fit into a clear category.

Maybe you’ve had a panic attack in the toilet at work.
I deeply believe that YOU are the only person who's the real expert on you. And I fully believe that you can heal and recover. My intention is to be alongside you, to support you, while you do. I'll offer you an honest, warm, occasionally sweary, space to talk and reflect, where we can make sense of things together. You don't have to do it all on your own.

Deeply self-aware and neurodivergent people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or exhausted from constantly holding everything together. Some of my clients come to counselling feeling lost in questions of identity, belonging, relationships, self-worth, grief, trauma, life transitions, or the lasting impact of difficult experiences. They may be struggling to understand themselves, navigate change, process emotions, or find a way forward that feels authentic and sustainable. At the heart of my work is helping people see themselves as whole human beings, not problems to be fixed.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.
What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.
How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.
How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
