My approach is also influenced by Jungian thinking,
transpersonal
and narrative therapy.
Welcome. I offer a compassionate, heart-centred approach to existential crises. Our search for meaning and purpose, who we really are and why we are here often comes under the guise of other problems or illness. We may experience depression, anxiety, grief about our planet, shame, deep loneliness, identity concerns, suicidal feelings or quest for soul and and a spiritual path. During therapy, I can help you develop self-compassion and inner strength, so you can face difficulties while clarity and self-knowledge grow, leaving behind what is not supporting you and moving on to live your authentic self, your truth and your dreams.

Hello. We all need someone to talk to when life is difficult. Counselling can help you understand more about who you are, to make better sense of past or current events, your feelings and how you relate. I seek to provide a heartfelt, safe and accompanied exploration of any issues you bring. I will seek to create a trusting alliance with you and provide a place you can find and be yourself. The therapy I practice -Core Process- works with feelings, emotions, thoughts and the felt senses towards supporting you to move through any fears and anxieties and generate a greater sense of health and wellbeing into your everyday life.

Hello. I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor, offering sessions online and in person. I bring a warm and relatable approach, creating a safe and non-judgemental space for you to explore your experiences, create an inner atmosphere of ease and acceptance and lean into a more expanded life. My key training included Gestalt Therapy and Person-Centred Therapy and I'm also very much influenced by my extensive experience of mindfulness, meditation and relational inquiry. I have also studied and practise with Internal Family Systems (IFS) which forms a framework of much of my approach.

I work with individuals (adults, adolescents and children of all ages), couples, families and groups, who bring with them a range of life’s problems, challenges and possibilities. My aim is to encourage a deeper sense of self-awareness whilst focusing on the individual’s whole experience of life (behaviour, thoughts and feelings). Some clients bring specific issues to therapy: depression, anxiety, stress, sexual abuse, low self-esteem, relationship issues, eating disorders, low self-confidence, loss, unhappiness with work, home or life in general. I have an interest and experience working with people who have expereinced trauma.

Often the reasons given to me for arriving to therapy are about, anxiety, depression, sadness, self confidence, life changing illnesses, self identity, early childhood, past or present relationships, bereavements, traumatic experiences, and mental health diagnosis. How these issues and difficult feelings manifest in people's lives are unique and so they may be identified as problems or difficulties addictions; work, or daily activity; relationships; children and parenting; personal identity, questions of 'who I really am'; the 'state of the world', particularly climate and ecological anxieties.

Whether you are coming to therapy with a particular issue, a general sense of unwellness, or a deeper search for purpose and meaning, I intend to walk alongside you to help you unpack your personal story, better understand your feelings, and gradually find out and stand in who you really are. As an integrative therapist, I work creatively and intuitively by drawing from a variety of approaches — from psychodynamic, to Jungian, humanistic and existential — all the while holding in mind a
transpersonal
perspective, and a firm belief in the capacity of the human psyche to heal its wounds and break free of limitations.

I offer a confidential, compassionate space to help you make sense of life, drawing on a range of modalities (Integrative,
Transpersonal
, Jungian, Gestalt, Psychodynamic) to suit individual needs in therapy.
Feelings of being misunderstood, resulting in isolation, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety? Do you excel in creative-arts/engineering/sport, yet underachieve in other subjects? It could be that your learning style is at odds with mainstream education. Trying to fit into a society that favours viewing the world through an analytical lens where hard facts, certainty, and passing exams are the primary goal, can severely disadvantage creative thinkers. Creative people are often highly intelligent and talented yet find it hard for their voice to be heard, finding themselves falling by the wayside. I'd love to hear from you...

I am a fully qualified and BACP registered
Transpersonal
and Integrative Psychotherapist who works somatically – with the body, nervous system and subtle energy-body, whilst honouring the spiritual aspect of our human experience.
If you have experienced something very upsetting or traumatic, your mind/body might still be reeling in the aftermath. Your wonderfully clever autonomic nervous system works hard to keep you safe: to fight, or to flee, or to numb everything out, before your conscious brain has even noticed what’s happening. These unconscious responses may not always serve you, however. When traumatic charge is held in our bodies long after the threat has passed, we can experience all sorts of debilitating symptoms, from anxiety, to depression, insomnia, self-hatred, comfort eating, self-harming, or relating to others in ways that we later regret.

Transpersonal Counsellors
How does transpersonal therapy work?
Transpersonal therapy focuses on a patient’s spirituality and meaning in life. Transpersonal therapists might borrow from Eastern traditions as well as Western psychology. They may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualisation, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork to produce altered states of consciousness. The therapist helps the patient to access their consciousness and spirituality to work through difficult mental states.
How long does transpersonal therapy last?
Because the goal is to understand a person as a whole, including their spirituality, treatment can range from months to a year or beyond. While patients learn the philosophy behind transpersonal therapy during treatment, they can also practice its principles throughout life after therapy sessions have ended.
Is transpersonal therapy effective?
Patients have found success with transpersonal therapy; this method is useful in improving anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, fears, relationship problems, and other concerns. Improvements in problem areas can continue even after transpersonal therapy ends, as individuals can utilise the tools they’ve learned during treatment sessions.
What are the limitations of transpersonal therapy?
There is some research on the effectiveness of transpersonal therapy, but empirical support for this therapy approach is sparse. It does not have the robust evidence base of other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioural therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy.
