Taking the first step into counselling often comes at a moment when life feels heavier than it should. You might be carrying a lot of responsibilities, emotions, other people’s needs and somewhere along the way, you’ve stopped having space for yourself. If that’s where you are, you’re not alone. I offer a calm, steady space where you can breathe, talk, and make sense of what’s been happening inside you.
Many of my clients come to me when they feel stuck, overwhelmed by responsibility, or caught in cycles of guilt, anxiety, or emotional exhaustion. Together, we slow things down so you can regain clarity, strength, and a way forward.

Whether you are navigating a late ADHD/Autism diagnosis, struggling with body image, or seeking support for your child or teenager, I am here to help you move from "just surviving" to feeling grounded.
I am psychotherapist, which means we look beneath the surface. For adults, this involves exploring how past experiences shape current feelings and relationships. For children (ages 4-12), I use play-based therapy—including sand tray and art because children often show us what they cannot yet say. My practice is neuroaffirmative and sensory aware.

I specialise in working with attachment difficulties, children, teens and families including parents and carers and individuals that have experienced developmental or relational trauma.
Taking that first step to starting therapy can be overwhelming. That's why talking with a supportive, non-judgemental, experienced Clinical Psychologist, who believes in the importance of people feeling safe and heard can be incredibly beneficial. My sessions are collaborative and use an integrative approach, drawing on a range of psychological models that prioritises peoples strengths and values to help individuals make sense of their past and present experiences. The sessions aim to help people feel happier, calmer and develop their own resources to manage emotions, relationships and difficult life events that may occur.

Teenagers have a hard time and so I do a lot of work with this client group and include a therapy dog when I think it will help them.
I try to make therapy as available to as many people as I possible can. The cost of therapy can be quite steep so I keep my prices as low as I can so that more can access it. Therapy is about getting to where you want to be by making your own unique road map, so that you can use it again in the future if need be. I'm an Addiction Psychologist by trade, with 18 years of private practise behind me, but a lot of my work is helping many different age groups with problems such as OCD and PTSD etc. Please feel free to contact me and we can have a chat to see if i can be any help to you.

I help people who are feeling sad, stressed, or 'like something isn't right'. First by building a understanding of their experience, then working with them towards recovery and beyond- to help them thrive. My work often involves; helping people to overcome the effect of a difficult experience, clarifying what's important to them and helping them attain it, or simply assisting someone to understand themselves better. Throughout my work I use evidence-based therapies to help my clients build personal resilience and live authentically with confidence.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.
How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.
How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.
How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
