I offer assessment and short and long-term psychotherapy for individuals and couples with a wide range of emotional and support needs.
We can all benefit from creating spaces of reflection and connection in our lives. Psychotherapy can be useful not only in helping people in severe psychological distress, but also in facilitating self-discovery, insight and growth, particularly during times of difficulty, change and transition. Greater curiosity about one’s self and increased self-awareness can help to bring recognition to, and shift, unhelpful patterns of behaviour. This insight can also increase the capacity to cope with challenging situations; contribute to building more meaningful relationships; & create space for a rich, meaningful and balanced life.

I work with both individuals and couples.
As a couple, it may be that a sudden event has caused a rift to open up between you both and this has compromised your ability to trust and communicate. Or perhaps there has been a growing distance and there is a desire for one or both of you to reconnect and become more intimate. Perhaps you want different things and it is hard to see a future together.

I have a particular interest in working with neurodivergent clients that have experienced childhood trauma who struggle in relationships, and clients affected by narcissistic parents or partners.
My approach is integrative, grounded in psychodynamic, object relational and person-centred frameworks. Mindfulness and drawing attention to the emotional, psychological and somatic experience in the ‘here and now’, is also integral to the way I work.

You might feel overwhelmed, stuck in patterns you can’t seem to break, or exhausted from trying to cope on your own. Whether you are living with the impact of trauma, struggling with addiction, or navigating the challenges of ADHD, it can feel isolating and difficult to know where to turn. My aim is to help you feel more in control, more connected to yourself, and more able to move forward with confidence. Reaching out can feel like a big step, but it can also be the beginning of meaningful and lasting change.

I have over 17 years of experience helping adults and couples.
Therapy offers insight and understanding helping you work towards an awareness of the self. It gives the opportunity to discover inbuilt defence mechanisms that perhaps no longer serve the person you have become as a result of the traumas we all experience in life. Counselling can be a quiet, safe space to breathe and think about your life. Who you are, where you are going and what you wish to gain. It can be a space to grieve the losses you have experienced in your life and the changes that happen throughout your life.

Sometimes, you may only need a couple of sessions plus some tools to practice.
Im a very intuitive therapist, i feel and sense someone before they sit down. I am confident in using tools to support and hold you while you find your way to answers you may seek. Do you have to make a difficult decision? Do you still have pain from the past interfering with now? Or perhaps you just need to find ways to cope?

Helllllo Hellllo , are you struggling feeling disconnected with yourself, numb, lost your spark and joy for life. In a state of not understanding why? or have a deep sense of understanding but not able to turn and face the shadows alone? Blocked emotions from trauma, childhood and life events can get trapped in our bodies and manifest in conditions such as depression, OCD, PTSD just to name a few. Patterns play out and we get stuck in cycles of repeating toxic relationships with ourselves and others, We create a mask and project what we would like to be, leaving us feeling detached from who we truly are at the core.

Marriage Counselling Counsellors
How does marriage counseling work?
Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.

How long does marriage counseling typically last?
Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.

Is marriage counseling effective?
Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.

Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
