I offer sessions face to face in Dragonfly Wellbeing Centre (Mutley) and online.
When your past still feels present, it can be hard to know where to begin. You might notice patterns in your relationships, struggle with anxiety or low mood, or feel disconnected from yourself. I work with adults and couples to make sense of these experiences and find new ways of relating. Sometimes these patterns are shaped by earlier experiences and the ways you’ve had to adapt over time. They might show up as self-doubt, people pleasing, or a sense that your needs don’t quite matter. In therapy, we can explore this together at your pace and begin to build a more compassionate, grounded relationship with yourself.

My aim is to bring together effective approaches incorporating a variety of therapeutic models such as relational therapy, humanistic, psychodynamic, attachment theory, person centred and neuroscience. This will also depend on your individual needs. My experience also covers body psychotherapy and energy work along with solution based therapy and mindfulness. I offer both short and long term therapy and the length of therapy will depend upon the presenting issues and your wishes. Is there a particular problem you would like to talk through and explore? This could be to do with a relationship, work related or a repeating pattern.

I offer a space to slow down and breathe. With a gentle and honest approach, I help you notice what's happening beneath the surface. Together, we explore your story to reconnect with who you are, who you were and who you're becoming. Hi, my name is Paulina, I'm an integrative counsellor and I wonder when was the last time you truly felt heard? Maybe you've been holding onto things you've never spoken about and the weight of it is starting to feel too heavy. Or perhaps you just need a space to make sense of it all. Imagine stepping into a warm, caring environment where you can talk about your life without fear of judgment.

Being able to talk freely to someone, without fear of judgement or shame, can be a huge relief. Feeling seen and truly heard, and accepted for who you are can be liberating.

I have worked in the NHS for over 20 years and I realise that therapy can be a new and unusual approach for people. I often work with folk who are finding things hard, and need a neutral form of support. I can offer direct support, teaching and practice in cognitive and behavioural techniques, or relaxation and mindfulness ideas to help. The goals that a person wants to work towards might be crystal clear to them, or they might refine these as we work together.

Hello I am a Core Process Psychotherapist. I practice in Exeter and Crediton. I believe we have a longing to be truly seen and heard. In Core Process Psychotherapy, together, we slow down enough to see the ways in which the strategies we have used to cope can keep us stuck long after they are helpful. With this seeing you then have a choice to take another path and be in the world in a freer more satisfying way.

The struggles you face today often have roots you can’t see- but therapy can help you understand them. Perhaps, it looks like you’re coping, yet inside you may feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. You might notice old ways of coping no longer work, emotions that come out of nowhere, or a sense that you just don’t fit in. I offer a warm, supportive, inclusive space where you can slow down, explore your experiences, and make sense of what feels confusing or painful. I work integratively using Transactional Analysis, a talking therapy that can help you see how past experiences shape your present patterns.

Face to face sessions in Cornwall are between 9-3, or I offer flexible evening online sessions via psychology today's video platform.
You might be carrying a lot, maybe more than you’ve ever said out loud. You might be feeling anxious, on edge, or stuck in patterns that don’t make sense. Maybe you’ve been through things like domestic abuse, a difficult upbringing, or the emotional weight that can come with parenthood, and now you’re left wondering how to cope, and where to even start. You don’t need fixing, and you’re not looking for someone to tell you what to do. You just want space. Space to talk things through, feel what you need to feel, and not be judged for it.

I believe in the transformative power of being truly heard and reaching greater understanding, with someone who meets you with kindness. So whatever it is that brings you to therapy, I hope we will build a trusting relationship where you feel free to explore things openly together. I am pleased to offer walking and nature therapy - this is a usual psychotherapy session but outdoors in a natural setting.

I am open to working with most issues and work in person as well as online (video) and telephone.
People come to counselling for various reasons; talking with someone unconnected with your situation, can assist you in gaining new insight and support with your concerns. When you have the opportunity to explore these issues together with your counsellor, you may find ways to create new, healthier responses that benefit your behaviour, relationships and ultimately, your own wellbeing. My role is always to support you and ‘untangle’ issues in a collaborative way, allowing you to develop new ways of thinking to promote positive change.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
