Do you feel stuck, unsatisfied, restless and not sure of who your are or what your purpose is anymore? Thats where I can help. There is one thing that all my clients have in common, they arrive because they have usually tried everything else and leaving say 'I wish I'd known about hypnotherapy before' I help people move beyond their perceived block into breakthrough and beyond. Letting go of old patterns and limiting beliefs that trying harder cant shift. It's not about becoming someone new or adopting new habits, it's about shedding the layers and remembering who you are.

Life can be challenging. It may feel like something is holding you back. Perhaps you feel different from your peers, a feeling that can reach back into childhood. You may have developed coping mechanisms that are negatively impacting you. Parts of you may feel disconnected whilst you function through your life. I specialise in trauma, sexual abuse, eating disorders, neurodiversity, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, emotional neglect and PTSD/CPTSD.

There was a time when I sat where you may be sitting now, wondering whether counselling could help. When I first sought therapy, I was struggling with work pressures, relationships and uncertainty about the future. What I found was a safe space to be heard without judgement, and that experience eventually led me to become a counsellor. Today, I offer a warm, confidential space for clients to explore life's challenges. I am also a practising supervisor. While I work with adults of all ages, I particularly enjoy working with young people, whose resilience and potential give me hope for the future.

How many times have you questioned why you repeat the same actions, find yourself in the same relationships, similar conditions or even ruminating on the same thoughts. We often do things unknowingly and have a deep longing to know why. You long for insight on your past and your present and feel anxious about the future because of this. It is at your worst moments that you seek self introspection, yet you still feel stuck. Perhaps you have self doubt or have uncertainty about where you are or what you want in your life. You have a deep desire to attain the life you dream of but feel that you get in your own way.

I believe that, due to the unrelenting pressures of the world we live in and the way our brains have evolved, everyone can find life difficult sometimes. It is easy for our minds to appear to work against us; getting stuck in loops of painful thoughts and feelings. This can result in depression, anxiety and difficulties with relationships. People who have experienced significant distress, trauma or hurt in life can also, not surprisingly, experience significant difficulties where memories come to haunt us and send us back to previous pain. I hope to help people life the life they want to live, with some sense of agency over pain.

Are you someone who holds a lot together on the outside — but inside, it doesn’t feel how you think it should? Maybe you’re managing day-to-day life — working, caring for others, showing up — while internally feeling anxious, low in mood, burnt out, or disconnected from yourself. There can be a sense of feeling lost, unsure who you are, or struggling with low self-worth, even if others see you as capable. You may find yourself stuck in patterns like people-pleasing, overthinking, or being hard on yourself. I can support you to move from self-criticism towards greater self-understanding and compassion.

You might feel like you’ve spent years trying to cope — pushing through, masking, or holding everything together — but inside you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or exhausted. I work with people who have experienced trauma, including sexual or domestic abuse, and those who feel misunderstood or out of place, particularly neurodivergent clients (ADHD/autism). Many of the people I support have spent a long time feeling like they don’t quite fit, or struggling to make sense of their experiences.

They say the Body Keeps the Score... And something keeps bringing you back to the same stuck places — the same anxious patterns, the same relationship dynamics, the same pain or signals from your body that you tend to ignore. Perhaps you've tried pushing through. Maybe you've tried talking about it. And talking helps. But your body has been waiting patiently for its turn. Here, we listen to both. I'm Beth, a clinical psychologist and therapeutic yoga teacher integrating modern psychology with somatic processing. I'm here to support your journey towards real, lasting change. Together, we regulate, rewire, and reconnect with joy.

I am a deputy lead clinical psychologist in an NHS secondary care team, and I currently work part-time in private practice. Each day, I help people manage stressful life events and confront various psychological issues, such as anxiety, PTSD, low mood, loneliness, self-esteem, and coping with pressure. I can help you develop a deep understanding of your psychological problems and convert insight into change. I believe that our thoughts influence our feelings, which in turn affect our actions. Sometimes, we must reflect on why we keep falling into the same patterns to move forward in life. Seeking help for emotional problems is wise.

Therapy can be hard. I get it; I've been there, but it doesn't have to be. I work collaboratively, so you don’t have to know what to do, or what to say. We’ll work through whatever you’re facing, at your pace. I’ve been on both sides of the counselling room, so I know how tough it can be just getting started, but I believe by working collaboratively, you can get what you need from therapy. You don’t have to have all the answers, you just have to turn up, and be willing to talk things through. I want to get to know you, and understand your story, to figure out how I can help you work through whatever you’re dealing with.

Sleep or Insomnia Counsellors
How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
