A key focus of the therapeutic work will consider the relationship you have with yourself which may have been impacted by events or the world around us.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy works to allow healing and understanding of the origins of our thoughts, feelings and behaviours that can cause anxiety, depression and other difficulties. This form of therapy focuses on experiences of the past have impacted you and contribute to the relationship with yourself and others.

Issues: Relationship, Anxiety, low mood, depression, suicidality, self-harm, self-esteem, spirituality.
When you make the decision to talk to a total stranger about your difficulties, it can sometimes provoke anxiety. However, as your therapist, my goal is to not make you feel judged, by providing a safe, confidential space for you to express those difficult feelings that you may never have been able to do. My aim is for you to feel connected with aspects of your self, which might make you feel more able to explore more complex issues of your life experience, so that you can make better sense of your world and your way of being and interacting with the connections you make within that world.

There are many reasons people come to counselling, for example bereavement, relationship breakdown, issues at work, past or recent traumatic events, difficulties around disordered eating or complexities associated with gender dysphoria.
My approach is Person-Centred, which means I create an environment that is non-judgemental and empathic and I value my clients and their experience. I offer warmth, integrity and acceptance and combine talking therapy with psychoeducation as I believe this creates the opportunity for clients to get the most out of sessions.

These might be a persistent low mood, a recurrent anxiety, a recent or past traumatic experience, a lack of meaning or direction in life, an anger issue, the loss of a loved one a relationship breakdown, a feeling of guilt or shame, a difficult life transition, or a more enduring and chronic mental health difficulty
You may want to seek ways of working through these personal challenges, of alleviating their burden, and of leading a more fulfilling and satisfying life. I give you support that can be a great first step to relieve some pressure and stress in life. This will improve your wellbeing. Therapy is also personal and choosing the right therapist is very important.

For individuals, I am to help you navigate through your difficult experiences, hurts and distresses. Our life experiences shape us in unique and particular ways and opening up what has been difficult for us requires kindness and compassion from ourselves and others. It is in the here and now that we learn to work with the difficulties of our lives.

Relationship Issues Counsellors
While the need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
