It's likely you've realised that something in your life isn't working as you wish, or perhaps you're sick of feeling the way you do. Either way, even if it feels daunting, you're ready to start the work that leads to deeper self-understanding and lasting change.

You might look like you’re coping—but inside, it feels different. You may overthink conversations, feel anxious without knowing why, or find yourself people-pleasing and struggling to say no. Sometimes something small shifts—and suddenly your body is flooded with urgency or emotion that feels hard to control. You might react more strongly than you’d like in relationships, then question yourself afterwards. This may connect to earlier experiences or trauma that still affects you now. And underneath it all, there may be a quieter, persistent question: Am I really good enough?

Living with a long-term health condition can be incredibly challenging and require a number of lifestyle changes. It can also impact our emotional weIlbeing. I work with adults who are navigating life with chronic illness and persistent symptoms, such as pain, fatigue, respiratory, gastrointestinal, or neurological conditions. Many of my clients are used to managing life well, until their health changes. You might be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low in mood, or struggling to adjust to a 'new normal'. I help people to make sense of what they’re going through, and find ways to improve their emotional wellbeing and quality of life.

Sometimes life can throw us a curve ball, leaving us reeling and unsure which way to turn. Relationships, separations, difficult upbringings and losses can all cause tensions and heartache. If you are a young person, you might be finding school, friends, family or career choices overwhelming and confusing. In these situations, it's normal to feel anxious, depressed or stuck, finding ourselves getting upset over the little things, questioning our worth or wondering who we really are. I can help you to explore your troubles, find your true self, reflect on your choices and move confidently towards a healing outcome.

I'm a counsellor & psychotherapist who believes that each person has the capacity for personal growth and self-healing. My role is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your true potential. Whilst working with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, loss, trauma & low self esteem, I have noticed that people's behaviours and responses no longer support them in their lives and result in many unwelcome feelings. Together, we will create the space for you to process what has become difficult, at a pace that is right for you, helping to find meaning and purpose as you navigate life's challenges.

You are holding it all together, but are you living fully? On paper, everything looks fine, but inside, you feel exhausted and disconnected by the effort of holding up the mask of 'being fine'. You wake up tense, shutting down to your partner or reacting to small things. This isn't a failure; it's an old survival strategy. As a child, you learned to suppress your needs to be safe. Now, your nervous system is stuck on high alert, keeping you small and exhausted. If you are tired of merely functioning and feel that niggling sense that you are missing out on your own life, I am here to help you come back to yourself.

No matter how you started or where you're headed, it's tough being a man. If just reading that feels like asking for a fight nobody wants… you’re in the right place. So let's talk about it. We’re finally creating space to challenge or discard outdated scripts – and in the process, leaving behind some messy gaps, with very different opinions on how to fill them. What “being a man” even means now has never had a more varied or deeply personal range of answers, or such a need for safe, inclusive places to explore what that question means to you.

Therapy with me is about showing up as you are, in the moment. In this space, you can be as authentic as you dare, knowing every part of you is welcome. Together we’ll build a relationship that can hold depth when it’s time to go there, and light when that’s what’s needed. We’ll pay attention to what unfolds between us: the struggles, the patterns, the ways you’ve learned to survive and gently explore what feels most alive and meaningful now.

Using IFS, EMDR and somatic approaches, we gently work through what shaped you and understand the patterns that keep you stuck.
My clients often look like they’re coping. They appear capable and responsible, sometimes highly successful, yet privately they are often anxious, disconnected, self-critical or exhausted. Some carry complex trauma or PTSD; others just know something doesn’t feel right. Many have learned to be the strong one. They don’t just want symptom relief — they want to understand their patterns, feel calmer, build steadier relationships and feel at home in who they truly are. They want the opportunity of a therapeutic relationship that will help them heal from their emotional wounds and unburden themselves.

Somatic Counsellors
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
