Hi , welcome. I’m the founder of RLS Therapy. I’m a down-to-earth person-centred therapist offering support for anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem and life transitions, like grief and loss. Many of my clients grew up in difficult or emotionally neglectful environments and are now experiencing anxiety, low-self worth or relationship struggles as a result. Others come to me during periods of trauma, burnout, stress, bereavement or life changes, or when overwhelming feelings make everything difficult to manage. Therapy with me has also helped neurodivergent individuals feel heard and understood.

Hello. There might be several reasons why you are looking to start therapy: Maybe you feel stuck and don’t know how to overcome a difficult situation. Or why the same things seem to be happening to you. You might be wondering 'what is wrong with me?'. Maybe you feel very sad and like you’re carrying heavy baggage. Stress might be a bit too much and you wish you could stop the race inside you. Maybe you just want to feel better. Maybe you are not sure, but you feel that all is not ok. And maybe all the above at the same time.

Sometimes, we can feel overwhelmed by life and we don't recognize why we feel the way we do. This can lead to us feeling disconnected with others but also with ourselves. Sometimes the problem is not always clear and by talking things through in a safe space, it can help us understand what is happening. Navigating issues through a therapeutic relationship can empower us to progress in your journey of self-discovery and thrive in life. I can offer you a safe, confidential space for you to feel heard, bring any issues that may be affecting you and your ability to flourish.

You may be feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns of thoughts or emotions, or finding life overwhelming in ways that are hard to explain. Perhaps anxiety, low mood, trauma, or long-standing difficulties are impacting various areas of your life. You might also be questioning whether you are autistic and looking for clarity, understanding, or validation after years of feeling different or misunderstood. If you are looking to make sense of your experiences and feel more at ease with yourself, I can help.

I understand that it can be hard to reach out for therapy, especially when you may be finding life tough at the moment. Or perhaps you are in a better place and have decided that you want to explore aspects of your life. Either way, please do contact me to discuss your needs. In therapy sessions I would work with you to process your past so that you can see how it impacts the present. For many there is the need to grieve for what has been lost, whilst giving the opportunity to identify and embrace your true inner self. You would strengthen ‘Adult’ you, freeing yourself to embrace life.

I offer face-to-face, telephone & online support with a range of issues such as relationship struggles, anxiety, depression and low mood, low self-esteem, big life changes, loss & bereavement, stress, work-life balance, trauma - to name a few. I also offer therapy sessions outside where we can talk whilst walking in nearby natural spaces. My core training is in Transactional Analysis psychotherapy, which provides practical approaches to understanding ourselves in relation to the situations we find ourselves in, so there is some emphasis on self-exploration. I take a flexible approach and welcome difference in its many forms.

Looking into therapy might be a new experience for you, but you’re looking into it for a reason; whether it’s work-related stress, relationship issues, feeling low or anxious, experiencing low self-esteem, or trying to process something that has had an impact on your wellbeing. I offer a safe space for you to talk, and say things that you may find difficult to say to anyone else, or even say out loud. You won’t be judged, you will be accepted, heard and valued. I’m very down to earth, open minded and do not shock easily. My aim is to help you feel at ease so that we can work together to improve your wellbeing.

Do you find moments when you want to speak up but you can't find the words? A sense of not being present, feeling like you're not in control and lacking joy. Trust in ourselves can get lost through the pressures of our environments and relationships around us. This may show up as anxiety, self-doubt or low esteem. Have you experienced trauma, domestic abuse, coercive control or just trying to make sense of confusion and feeling disconnected from yourself and others. I help you reconnect with those parts of yourself that possibly feel more distant than you would like them to be, I encourage you to connect with your nervous system.

At any stage in life, we can experience changes or moments where it becomes difficult to cope with our thoughts and feelings. This can result in feeling stuck and not knowing how to process what we're experiencing. What can make this more difficult is knowing who or how to open up to others or feeling like what you're experiencing is too much for someone to understand. Having a therapist allows you to share all parts of you, parts that are accepted wholeheartedly without shame or judgement, which may not feel possible even with those you feel closest to.

I believe that the therapist and client come together as a team to work through issues that may stand in the way of you reaching your potential. Through my training, I have mainly used Transactional Analysis, but also have some experience working in a solution-focussed way and like to work integratively as each person is an individual who may like to work in a different way. I work with people on a range of issues, but find that I work with people with anxiety or depression most commonly, and pride myself on working hard to make people feel at ease.

Life is challenging and full of struggles. You may be feeling stuck or lost, out of control, low in mood, swamped by feelings of worry, guilt, shame or anger. Maybe you are finding it difficult to feel grounded in your life and connected to those around you. You could be experiencing a sense of emptiness that you can’t explain. You are not broken; you are simply responding the things that have happened to you. You are important and you deserve to feel peace and presence in your life.

If you're tired of battling stress, overwhelm, anxiety or if you're frustrated because you can't seem to be as productive or confident as you want, or need, to be then hypnotherapy can work amazingly well for you. Your subconscious is in the driving seat and while it tries to help you feel safe and survive, it can also hinder you too. Often we aren't entirely aware, at a conscious level, why we're struggling or stuck in self-sabotaging behaviour patterns. Hypnotherapy is able to reach your subconscious and work with it to correct course, allowing you to achieve what you want.

I work with people who struggle with people-pleasing, self-doubt, and relationship anxiety. You might worry about disappointing others, replay conversations in your mind, or feel guilty for putting your own needs first. Over time, people-pleasing can leave you feeling exhausted, resentful, and disconnected from what you truly want. Therapy offers a space to understand where these patterns began and how they shape your relationships today. Together we can explore your needs, build confidence in expressing them, and practise setting healthier boundaries so you can feel more grounded, secure, and comfortable being yourself.
