I am proud to say that I have had the privilege of seeing many, many people's lives change, as a result of them actively engaging in the therapeutic process. I'd love to help you too. Perhaps, you are struggling in some of these areas: Stress, anxiety, low mood, confidence, self esteem, sleep , motivation, or limiting beliefs. Maybe, something else. Well done for seeking help, and please don't stop until you find it. You will find the right therapist for you.

I have experience of working with many people who are suffering the effects of depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, lack of motivation and confidence, as well as loss, sleep issues and more.
Does it feel to you like no matter how hard you try, you can't seem to shift how you are feeling and you are overwhelmed by it all? Change is possible and there is a way through. Imagine if you woke up this morning and everything feels right, things make sense and you are able to take control of what is going on, allowing you to live your life free from limitations. It may not be easy, but you can begin to feel that life has more meaning and that you are experiencing healthy well-being again.

At the same time, working on deep routed mental health issues that are contributing to unhelpful repetitive negative thoughts, low levels of self-esteem, sleep issues and more.
I have over 19 years experience working with people - My clients come to me, when they feel overwhelmed, exhausted and in need of support - they can't manage their thoughts, relationships, behaviours alone any longer and they need someone to talk to in a confidential, non-judgmental way. Together we explore, unpick, understand and make changes, so that life can become more manageable, enjoyable and less exhausting. For me, each of my clients are individuals, and its about getting the right balance - seeing what works and what doesn't work for them, promoting change together.

I became a therapist because I like people - I like to understand their stories and how that has brought them to where they are. When you are feeling stuck because of anxiety or depression it is usually pretty difficult to believe anyone would want to listen. Well I do. I want to help you discover and explore the events, thoughts, feelings, and patterns of behaviour that have made you feel trapped so that you can make changes. Imagine being able to see your friends, attend events, even just sleep , without anxious or self critical thoughts wearing you down. That is what therapy with me can offer.

I work with adults and adolescents suffering from anxiety, depression, loss of motivation, dysfunctional relationship dynamics and sexual problems, and sleep -related issues through online video calls and/or telephone appointments.
Life at its best is not easy, and every day can bring worries never imagined before. All these influences can make you inclined to hang your head and give up, as almost everyone has experienced at some point or another in their lives. I am genuinely interested in helping individuals reach their highest potential. Sometimes the greatest regrets come from not doing what we know we should have been as we watch time go by. My focus as a therapist is to help you understand yourself to identify dysfunctional areas and to help bring about self-awareness of your mind to foster positivity which will help you attain self-fulfillment.

Hello, my name’s Christine - thanks for pausing to look at my profile. I’ve been a health professional for over 30 years. All this experience has taught me one thing: so much of a treatment's success will depend on you feeling comfortable with me. So, the first thing I want to describe is my approach to therapy. With sensitivity and compassion, I will use my skills as a psychotherapist and physiotherapist to understand the issues you face.

Do you feel impacted by difficult life problems as a result of coping with traumatic experiences, managing depression/anxiety or dealing with difficult emotions? Many people find it easier to talk to someone who they see as being separate or an "outsider" to their life rather than friends or family. I can help you make sense of events (past and ongoing) in your life and resolve complicated feelings linked to these. However, you don't have to be at crisis point or feel unwell to have counselling! Therapy can be used to better understanding of yourself, working to change things you want, increasing your self-esteem and for self-care.

I believe that the therapist and client come together as a team to work through issues that may stand in the way of you reaching your potential. Through my training, I have mainly used Transactional Analysis, but also have some experience working in a solution-focussed way and like to work integratively as each person is an individual who may like to work in a different way. I work with people on a range of issues, but find that I work with people with anxiety or depression most commonly, and pride myself on working hard to make people feel at ease.

Going round the circle, even though you do to get out? It can be frustrating and draining. Or maybe, you have been living a fulfilling, happy life up till now. But something happened and it changed the way you think and feel about yourself and the world around you. It can be confusing and scary. Maybe you feel, as if you were standing at the crossroads and were too afraid to choose your path. It can make you feel unable and hopeless.

How effective is treatment for insomnia?

The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?

There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?

There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?

Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
