In addition to working with
women
who have experienced trauma, I work with
women
to provide relief from: feelings of sadness and hopelessness; overwhelming feelings of anger and aggression; misuse of alcohol, drugs or food; disordered eating; anxiety; stress; irritability; feeling stuck in challenging transitions/decisions; suicidal thinking.
Hello! I specialise in working with
women
who have depression, anxiety, stress, anger issues, addictions, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, or who wish to explore and deal with trauma or abuse from their past and the impact it is having on their lives today. I have expertise in and I am certified in the clinical treatment of clients who present with complex psychological trauma. I believe the key to healing is in supporting you to transform how your mind, body and soul remembers what has happened to you. This involves bringing to consciousness your patterns and supporting you to heal, change and grow.

I specialise in working with
women
on a range of experiences, including anxiety, depression, body image and self-esteem, relationship challenges, highly sensitive personality, menstrual cycles, PMS, quarter-life crisis.
Does This Feel Familiar? Maybe you feel like the floor has disappeared from underneath you and you've been free-falling for a while. You may experience a clenching sensation in your chest or stomach that you label as anxiety or depression. There may be a fear of losing control of your life or yourself, and a persistent sense of being on high alert to danger or rejection, leaving you feeling emotionally drained. A mental fog may prevent you from staying on task or fully engaging in your life, making it challenging to stay present with the people you love and care for. Maybe you are consumed with self-loathing towards your body.

My desire is to see you thrive. I love supporting individuals on their journey of self-discovery. I provide weekly one to one psychotherapy in person from Euston and online. With over 15 years clinical experience, I started my career in addictions drug, alcohol & eating disorders. I worked for many years, with complex trauma & PTSD at one of the UK's largest NHS Foundation Trusts. For the last 5 years I have been in private practice, mostly with diverse
women
who prefer not to keep explain issues around race or culture. However, my trauma informed approach is suitable for all groups.

I support people from the UK and beyond, of diverse backgrounds, in particular mixed-race individuals,
women
and those who are highly sensitive.
Welcome. I offer a compassionate, heart-centred approach to existential crises. Our search for meaning and purpose, who we really are and why we are here often comes under the guise of other problems or illness. We may experience depression, anxiety, grief about our planet, shame, deep loneliness, identity concerns, suicidal feelings or quest for soul and and a spiritual path. During therapy, I can help you develop self-compassion and inner strength, so you can face difficulties while clarity and self-knowledge grow, leaving behind what is not supporting you and moving on to live your authentic self, your truth and your dreams.

I help
women
and non-binary people overcome trauma and abuse in order to feel safe again and thrive. If you're struggling with flashbacks, fluctuate between intense emotions and numbness and get triggered easily then therapy will help you to improve your mood, connect to your body and mind, and rediscover pleasure in daily life. Even if you have had therapy before, specialist trauma support will get you from where you are to where you want to be.

Sometimes life can be tough and talking about the challenges and struggles we go through with our loved ones can be even more difficult and it can leave us feeling isolated and lonely. Asking for help is not easy and if you have not experienced counselling before you may find your self asking the question, do i need counselling? If you feel the need to gain insight and self awareness than counselling is a safe place for you to start your journey of self healing. We are living in the time of uncertainty and many of us are feeling stressed and anxious. It can be helpful to talk to a professional who can provide an outside perspective.

As a midwife and birth trauma therapist I have realised that sadly most
women
who experience trauma through the childbearing experience aren’t getting the help they need. Instead this emotional wound is left unhealed and the consequence permeate through their thoughts, emotions, decisions and relationships. What would it feel like to truly let go of negative thoughts and emotions from your previous traumatic experience, get clarity and create space for a positive new future? How You Feel Matters - because pregnancy, birth and parenting are more than physical event.

Are you consumed by thoughts about food and weight? Maybe the more you control your eating, the more you binge? You know dieting doesn't work, but you don't know what to do? Maybe you overeat in secret or alone and feel guilty about it? Perhaps you feel like you've tried everything to no avail? Maybe you feel like you're continually sabotaging yourself? I understand how you feel. I struggled with disordered eating for years and at the time didn't know what to do or where to turn for help. I help
women
overcome their unhealthy relationships with food by addressing the root causes of emotional eating and binge eating.

I have provided therapeutic support to people with various presentations including specializing in: psychosis, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma and LGBTQ+ issues. Across all of these settings and presentations, I often found core underlying themes of feeling anxious, overwhelmed, low, self-critical, stressed, depressed and burned out. Most people struggled to get their minds and bodies in a place of comfort and safety and therefore struggled to “do the work” necessary to recover. Most felt like they had tried everything and were frustrated at the lack of change or difference it made to their lives.

Female Counsellors
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
