I work with clients who are experiencing low mood, anxiety, and trauma/PTSD. You may have been through some difficult times in your life that you are struggling to understand or move past. For some this could be showing up as poor motivation, feeling low or hopeless, and not enjoying things anymore. For others they might be feeling on edge all the time, or be having nightmares, or be worried constantly. However you are feeling therapy can help to explore what is happening for you, and with some skills and a large dose of compassion move towards feeling better.

I help women struggling with weight, food, body image, self-worth, confidence and people-pleasing, by working with the deeper patterns underneath.
I work with women who are exhausted by dieting, starting again, and feeling like they’re constantly battling themselves.
Maybe you use food to cope, numb out, reward yourself, or hide. You might know exactly what you “should” be doing, but still find yourself repeating the same habits. You might dislike your body, compare yourself to others, people-please, or constantly question if you’re good enough.
These aren’t random behaviours. They are ingrained patterns, and there are reasons why they are there, but we can change them.

Perhaps you feel something isn't quite right. Maybe you can't put your finger on it, or maybe you can? A relationship that's become difficult, a pattern you keep falling into, a sense of being stuck somewhere you don't want to be. You know something needs to change, but understanding what and doing it are different things.
That's where I come in. I work with people who are ready to understand themselves better. To spot the patterns, make sense of where they are, and find a way forward. Not back to how things were, but somewhere new. Somewhere with more clarity, more choice, greater wellbeing.

Welcome.
You're probably here because you’re a high performer who keeps everything together on the outside. But underneath, you might feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or stuck in patterns of overthinking, perfectionism and self-criticism. Perhaps the strategies that once helped you cope aren't working anymore. Or maybe you’ve experienced a recent diagnosis or life change, and now feel uncertain about who you are or what comes next. When these struggles stay hidden, they quickly become isolating and exhausting. But you don’t have to do this alone anymore. Over time, this can impact your confidence, relationships, and overall wellbeing.

Let’s be real: figuring out life can be exhausting. Maybe you’re doing "fine" on paper, but inside, you’re constantly overthinking, feeling "stuck," or just tired of trying to meet everyone else’s expectations.
If you’re looking for a space where you can finally take off the mask and just be, I’m glad you’re here.
As an Integrative Counsellor, I don’t believe in "one size fits all" therapy. You’re a unique human, so our sessions will be too. We’ll talk like real people—no clinical jargon, just honest conversation. Whether you’re navigating a big life change or trying to quiet that inner critic.

Are you tired of doubting yourself and feeling like you're never quite enough? Do you find yourself caught in a cycle of overthinking, overachieving, and constantly questioning your worth? If this sounds like you, I'm here to help.
The people I work with are often driven to succeed but held back by an inner voice that doubts, criticises, or shames. Underneath their accomplishments, they feel exhausted by perfectionism, people-pleasing, or self-blame that keeps them stuck. Many suspect they are neurodivergent, or are starting to realise that growing up with emotionally immature parents has had a significant impact.

Body Image Counsellors
How does body image affect mental health?
Poor body image can influence mental health because it can reduce self-esteem and decrease functioning in other areas of one's life. Negative body image may hinder someone's ability to perform daily tasks, including professional and social responsibilities, because they may feel self-conscious or shame surrounding their appearance; a desire to change one's body as a result of negative body image can also trigger behaviors such as extreme dieting, excessive exercise, or obsessive social media comparison. Poor body image is associated with a number of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and eating disorders, although many people experience negative body image even in the absence of meeting the diagnostic criteria for any mental health disorders.
What does it mean to have a positive body image?
Body image refers to how one internally perceives their appearance and internally "talks" to themself about their body. Positive body image is therefore indicative of a positive perception of one's self and positive internal self-talk that underscores one's strengths. People who have good body image often have higher self-esteem, self-worth, and self-confidence, and they also often recognise how external factors, such as social media or relationship patterns, can influence body image. While body image can change at different life stages and in response to various triggers, practicing self-acceptance and a body-positive mindset can help maintain a more stable sense of positive body image.
Is body image the same as self-esteem?
Body image and self-esteem are often related, but they are distinct concepts. Self-esteem is a broader term that can be shaped by a number of factors outside of body image, including one's functioning at school or in the workplace; it refers to one's capacity to handle various life challenges. Poor body image can be one way in which one's self-esteem is reduced. Reduced self-esteem as a result of poor body image can cause individuals to feel negative about their appearance, withdraw from social interactions, and/or rely on harmful behaviours as a coping mechanism. A "body positive" approach to body image therapy is therefore often used to encourage a more positive view of one's self and thus encourage better self-esteem.
What type of therapy is best to foster a positive body image?
The type of therapy best suited to improve body image depends on each person, as there is not a single therapy specific to body image improvement. That said, many individuals with poor body image benefit from therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based therapy. CBT can be used to help challenge distorted or negative thoughts about one's body, while ACT and mindfulness practices can facilitate a more positive body image through self-acceptance and identification of one's personal strengths. Regardless of treatment type, clients should look for body image therapists who encourage the development of a sense of self outside of their external appearance and help clients reduce unwanted behaviours developed as a result of poor self-esteem, such as dieting or disordered eating patterns.
