I am a qualified Play Therapist offering a warm, creative, and child-centred space where children and young people can safely explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Using a range of therapeutic approaches including non-directive play, sensory and creative work, I support children aged 3 and up who may be struggling with big emotions, anxiety, behavioural challenges, neurodivergence (including ADHD and autism), and life changes. I understand that children often communicate through play rather than words. I will meet them at their level, building a trusting relationship where they feel seen, heard, and understood.

Rosalyne Norford is a registered Person-centred Psychotherapist based in Manchester - here to work with you through complex and difficult parts of life. I truly care about giving clients the space and time to find their own way to solutions, meaning and personal-growth. I support people experiencing anxiety, burnout and self-esteem difficulties, including when anxiety shows up at unwanted times, it feels hard to switch off, or overthinking takes over. This can often be linked to pressures in the workplace or caring roles, leaving you feeling exhausted or disconnected. I see my practice as a space to make sense of these experiences.

If you're tired of battling stress, overwhelm, anxiety or if you're frustrated because you can't seem to be as productive or confident as you want, or need, to be then hypnotherapy can work amazingly well for you. Your subconscious is in the driving seat and while it tries to help you feel safe and survive, it can also hinder you too. Often we aren't entirely aware, at a conscious level, why we're struggling or stuck in self-sabotaging behaviour patterns. Hypnotherapy is able to reach your subconscious and work with it to correct course, allowing you to achieve what you want.

Maybe you feel stuck and all your usual coping strategies do not work at this point; Maybe something difficult and traumatic happened that you need to process and learn to move on; Maybe you got trapped and overwhelmed with anxiety and it stops you from enjoying your life; Maybe you feel deep down in the sadness and struggling to see positive and enjoyable side of life and world; Maybe your childhood trauma shadows got out of the hiding place triggered by relationships or parenting or some challenging circumstances; Maybe you would like to build your confidence, get your sense of self back and get the best of your life.

Do you find yourself stuck in the same patterns despite knowing what needs to change? Perhaps you struggle with anxiety, overthinking, people-pleasing, perfectionism, self-doubt, burnout, low self-worth, or feel that you're holding yourself back. You may feel disconnected from yourself, exhausted from carrying so much, frustrated by repeating the same cycles, or aware that something is getting in the way of living the life you know you're capable of. I believe many of the struggles we experience in adulthood are driven by unconscious beliefs, protective strategies and survival patterns that once kept us safe but now keep us stuck.

I am a qualified psychotherapist, life coach, trainer and supervisor, with over 25 years experience in private practice. I work with adults who may be encountering life's stressors to a greater-than-usual degree or may be struggling to find their way forward in a diverse range of circumstances. These may be from personal or professional sources but usually involve our own, perhaps not very helpful, habitual ways of dealing with such difficulties - we all can revert to old habits in times of trouble. I am available to do both short- and long-term work according to need.

Hi, I’m Gaby, and I'm here to support you to find a creative way through your challenges. I've been working in the field of mental health for 12 years, and in that time I've gathered a toolkit of different approaches which allows me to tailor therapy to meet your individual needs. We can work towards a particular goal of your choice, or we can take an exploratory, open-ended approach. Either way, sessions will go at your own pace and on your terms.

How does art therapy work?
The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.

Does art therapy help with trauma?
Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.

How long does art therapy last?
The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.

What are the limitations of art therapy?
Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioural therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
