I believe that creating a safe, supportive space is key to placing the therapeutic relationship at the heart of our sessions, in order for you to feel heard, accepted and understood. I support clients in an empathic and non-judgemental way with difficulties such as anxiety, low mood, trauma, relationship challenges and self-esteem, and have particular experience supporting individuals affected by substance misuse and addiction.

Alternatively, you may not know why you are struggling with your mental health. I provide a calm, warm, supportive presence to help you figure it all out.

I offer Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT - tapping) which is like acupuncture but without the needles. You tap on specific parts of your body whilst working on difficult experiences or emotions. There are over 100 studies which found it to be effective with a large variety of difficulties but more higher quality studies are still needed.
It works by activating the parasympathetic nervous system (the system that makes the body relaxed) whilst thinking about difficult things so that the brain then associates the difficulties with relaxation in the future rather than distress.

Recently, I've been working with a lot of clients who have substance misuse issues.
These can greatly affect a persons confidence and I feel I am good at helping clients address their issues and go on to live the life they deserve.
I'm also experienced at working with clients suffering bereavement issues. Sometimes its hard to make sense of someone's loss. Let me help you explore that grief and ways in which you can look at moving on from your loss.
I offer a safe warm space for our sessions. I'm happy to work at the clients pace and my aim is to help you develop as a person.

Accepting that you need the help of someone else can be hard. Making the decision to attend counselling can be even harder. Partners, peers and family may not understand, you may feel like you've failed somehow, you may feel like you are not enough. This is far from the truth however.
Attending counselling is often the first step on a journey that allows us to confront our difficulties, face our fears, become more self-aware and ultimately take a path that can lead to a better life.

My role is to guide you out from living in the past and to re-decide a better future. This is your story and now is the beginning. It is never too late to choose a different path towards a more positive outcome.

Although I regularly work with clients of all ages and genders, the majority of my clients tend to be young men, who have unresolved feelings or experiences which are impacting on their daily lives. I work as an integrative counsellor, from a person-centred perspective. This means that you can bring whatever you wish to the session, while we work at your pace and depth. I employ theory and techniques from CBT, psychodynamic and other therapeutic philosophies which I feel may be useful. Where we start is not the important thing as ultimately, you will naturally discover the things that matter the most to you.

I work with adults and young people navigating ADHD, OCD, Autism anxiety, stress, burnout or giftedness. This includes those who were diagnosed with ADHD late in life. Many of my clients are people who have been told they have 'so much potential' but have struggled with emotional regulation, executive function, imposter syndrome or a sense of being overwhelmed. I also work with individuals experiencing stress or burnout, including those who hold high responsibility and complex roles at work, and with young people facing academic stress, social difficulties, or life transitions.
