I have a keen interest in working with women who are struggling with the demands of the environment they find themselves in. That could be for a number of reasons; perhaps the pressures of a successful career feel heavy, overwhelming challenges of a toxic workplace, navigating your relationships successfully, feeling the pressure of juggling parenthood, feeling burnout with the challenges of raising a neurodivergent family or maybe you have recently discovered you're neurodivergent yourself and you are feeling the sadness an overlooked childhood that has left you questioning your identity, struggling to know how you move forward.

I work with adults across a wide range of experiences, including neurodivergence (autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia), PTSD, CPTSD, and BPD, as well as identity and gender-related challenges.
We work together to understand how your experiences have shaped you, how your beliefs and nervous system are primed to think and react, and why certain patterns repeat. We look at your history and current life, structuring what’s happening and what can change. It’s a collaborative, kind, and practical process.

I work primarily with clients around addiciton issues, and ADHD.
I am a Counsellor based in Manchester offering In person and online sessions. Life can be challenging, and in places it can feel intolerable and overwhelming it can be difficult to know where to start unravelling this, how to make changes, what changes, if any, we need to make, and to try to make sense of why we feel the way that we do. This can be a very painful experience but however dark it may be today, doesn't mean tomorrow won't be lighter, counselling can offer an opportunity to be heard and to be understood. I work with clients from all backgrounds but have particular experience working with Addiction and with LGBT+ issues.

I also specialise in helping people to adjust to a chronic illness, or to a late diagnosis of ADHD, informed by both my professional and lived experience.
Welcome.
You're probably here because you’re a high performer who keeps everything together on the outside. But underneath, you might feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or stuck in patterns of overthinking, perfectionism and self-criticism. Perhaps the strategies that once helped you cope aren't working anymore. Or maybe you’ve experienced a recent diagnosis or life change, and now feel uncertain about who you are or what comes next. When these struggles stay hidden, they quickly become isolating and exhausting. You may find yourself quietly battling anxiety, burnout, or depression. But you don’t have to do this alone anymore.

With a keen interest in intersectionality, I have significant experience working with ADHD and LGBTQIA+ communities, both of which are close to my heart.
Hi, I’m Gaby, and I'm here to support you to find a creative way through your challenges. I've been working in the field of mental health for 12 years, and in that time I've gathered a toolkit of different approaches which allows me to tailor therapy to meet your individual needs. We can work towards a particular goal of your choice, or we can take an exploratory, open-ended approach. Either way, sessions will go at your own pace and on your terms.

I particularly welcome those who have recently discovered they are autistic, PDA and/or ADHD.
There are many reasons why someone might seek therapy. You could be a stage in your life where you are confused about who you really are and what to do next. You may be haunted by old traumas or facing new challenges. It may be that you are experiencing relationship or family issues, there may be problems at work. You may be going through grief and loss, or facing illness or disability. Any of this could leave you feeling anxious, depressed, overwhelmed or burnt out. Alternatively, you may not know why you are struggling with your mental health. I provide a calm, warm, supportive presence to help you figure it all out.

ADHD Counsellors
When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.
How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioural therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.
How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
