I found my way to being a Psychologist because I am deeply curious about people and what makes us ‘tick’ and I struggle to see suffering without doing something to help. Until 2022, I worked for the NHS with people who have experienced trauma and who have complex emotional needs. I was also a DBT Therapist in the NHS Trust’s small DBT Service. I work with adults, aged 18 and over, and whether you're struggling with emotion regulation difficulties, interpersonal challenges, depression, anxiety, social anxiety, grief and trauma or with difficulty adjusting to life changes and challenges, psychological therapy can help.

Welcome. Everyone has times in life when their mental health is particularly challenging and they face emotional or psychological difficulties. If that describes you here and now, it can be helpful to seek support to become more aware of the impact of past life experiences, how those events still influence how you are in the world today and explore your thoughts and feelings around options for making changes in the future. Your issues, needs and goals could arise from your working life, personal life or a combination of both. You could be looking for more immediate help or seeking to better understand deeper, long-standing issues.

Changes often take time and effort. As you read this, you may be confused, feeling stuck or have difficulty finding direction to go as you are going through a major transition in your life. Being 'between' different life stages, countries and cultures, jobs and education, different family roles can be a struggle and it takes a lot of energy to carry on moving forward. You may be needing somewhere safe to stop, have your breath back and examine what is happening around and inside of you so that you can recalibrate yourself and start moving on.

I work with many neurodivergent young people and the vital element to successful outcomes are always down to the therapeutic relationship.
I work in private practice and in Secondary schools with many mental health issues such as anxiety, self-harm, low mood, gender dysphoria, self-esteem and confidence. In this difficult world, especially after lockdown, there are so many teenagers struggling emotionally and it is affecting confidence, friendships, family life and school. They want to understand how to understand and manage these emotions in order to be able to process them and move forward. I also work with SEND young people, struggling to understand themselves and why they may struggle emotionally.

When life fractures, it doesn’t wait. One moment you’re holding it together; the next you’re numb, exhausted, disconnected from your own fire. I integrate Eastern philosophy with Western psychology, science, and evidence-based methods to create human-centred, transformative work—no clichés, no spiritual fluff. This isn’t about fixing you but meeting your shadows with courage, dissolving emotional weight, and reclaiming the power you thought you lost. If you’re ready to rise with purpose and quiet strength, I’m here. The path is real. The change is permanent.

When our children experience significant emotional distress, it is extremely difficult for them and for you. I aim to support a child or young person with dignity and respect, working with a warm, caring and sensitive individual approach to suit their needs. I use the relationship between myself and the child at the centre of the therapy. I then guide the therapeutic process using theories from psychoanalysis, Gestalt theory and neuroscience's somatic theories. This knowledge informs my understanding of a child's developmental traumas, often the foundations of the current problematic thinking and behaviours being experienced.

I have considerable experience supporting people with anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship struggles (plus autism/high sensitivity).
Do you sometimes feel different? Or that what you go through is unique only to you? perhaps you believe things that happen to you are all your fault? Or you struggle in relationships? I understand the need to feel part of the world, not 'messed up' - we are social creatures who often care what people think. And we have a natural desire to be the best person we can be - something to be cultivated. The conflict to fit in, whilst being true to yourself - creates tension, anxiety, depression, poor coping strategies. Plus the modern pressures of life rarely let us 'just be'. The process of therapy can resolve these deep conflicts.

What is the most effective treatment for autism?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) has come to be considered the standard treatment for children with autism spectrum disorder, and research has confirmed its effectiveness for many children. Therapists trained in ABA techniques work with children (and their parents) on developing social skills, communication and learning abilities, and everyday habits of hygiene and grooming. The clinician will tailor their program to the child’s particular need but the overarching goal will be to help them advance as far as possible toward independence based on their level of symptoms and decrease the need for additional special services. Families should seek a mental health professional specifically trained in ABA, and holding special certification in the technique, who has extensive experience not only with the approach but in using it with children with the same level of symptoms as the child who needs care.
How does ABA work?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) sessions, which typically focus on positive reinforcement, can be intensive, lasting two or more hours several times a week, and continuing for two years or more. Therapists can also be expected to ask parents to take an active role in reinforcing lessons. Research has found that the technique can lead to major improvements that decrease the need for additional special services.
How does treatment for autism work?
Therapy sessions based on Applied Behavior Analysis will likely be frequent, intensive, and highly structured. After a thorough assessment, a therapist will help a child understand and develop skills in a range of areas, including communication, motor skills, social skills, self-care, play, and academic skills, as well as routines of daily living like hygiene. Typically, the therapist will help a child break down the components of a behavior—often referred to as the antecedent (what prompts an action), the behavior, and the consequence(what immediately follows)—and then reward the child at every step, while also asking parents to reinforce the lessons, and the rewards, throughout the day. This core therapy may be supplemented by occupational or speech therapy, and antidepressants, antipsychotics, and anticonvulsants may be prescribed to address specific severe symptoms.
How long does therapy for autism take?
Some people with autism spectrum disorder may be engaged in some level of therapy for many years, but research shows that treatment will be most effective if it is begun early and delivered intensively. When therapy begins by age 3, children tend to be better able to grasp and adopt the skills needed to manage everyday life, including attending school and establishing social relationships. This type of early-intervention treatment regimen is highly structured, typically involving 20 to 40 hours of one-on-one therapy per week, along with additional hours of engagement managed by parents, for a period of two years or more, although the duration of treatment is dependent on the child’s level of symptoms and pace of progress.
