Because I work with a wide range of life’s challenges – from anxiety and low mood to relationship tangles and life transitions – I don’t come to our sessions with a pre-set script.
I provide a steady, grounded space where the volume of the outside world can be turned down. My style is gentle; I believe that real change doesn’t come from pushing ourselves harder, but from understanding ourselves better. Here, there is no pressure to “fix” everything in the first hour. We take things at your pace, making sure you feel safe and supported.

I believe in the power of nature to heal and provide a space with views of a beautiful garden as well as the opportunity to work outside either walking in the forest or seated by a pond and waterfall. In the work we can harness the natural environment to help calm a dysregulated nervous system and bring back a sense of safety and control. Feeling overwhelmed by life's challenges happens to us all at times. I provide a safe space to explore what is causing your pain and understand where you are in all of this. This could be the first step in prioritising yourself and your own needs and finding lasting happiness.

In our sessions we can work together to explore what your worries and fears are.
Are you having to cope with the death of a loved one, and feeling the overwhelming experience of loss and grief? Have you or someone you love been diagnosed with a terminal illness? You are not alone. I provide a space where you can talk and be listened to as you explore your experience of bereavement or a terminal health diagnosis. I can give you the chance to express how you feel, and say the things you feel unable to say to friends and family, without feeling judged.

Sleep may be disrupted, anxiety constant, and the body may signal distress through pain, digestive issues, fatigue, or flare-ups that no amount of effort seems to resolve.
I support adults who have spent much of their lives holding it together, staying in control, and being self-reliant. These coping patterns once served a purpose but leave little room for rest or support. My trauma-informed work uses CBT, CFT, EMDR and EMDR Intensives, and is collaborative, carefully paced, and focused on helping your nervous system.

You may overthink conversations, feel anxious without knowing why, or find yourself people-pleasing and struggling to say no.
Embodied therapy helps you feel safe in your body again. You don’t have to re-live painful memories to heal. Instead, we work gently with your nervous system — using tools like breathwork, grounding, guided visualisations, mindfulness, and creative practices — to explore what your body is holding and what it needs to let go of.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
