I'm a BACP-registered counsellor offering a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space where you can talk openly and feel heard. My background includes working in the NHS and with employee assistance programmes. Over the years, I’ve gained particular expertise in helping individuals and couples supporting people through depression, anxiety, PTSD, bereavement, relationship and family issues, chronic health conditions and times of deep struggle. I believe therapy is a space for growth, healing and change. If you’re ready to take that first step, I’d be glad to walk alongside you.

Currently 18 Years in Practice. Being human is mostly hard and life can be cruel. We see it time and time again. Bad things happen to good people, and we suffer. Each and every one of us at some point in our lives, finds ourselves lost and stuck. We can get depressed, anxious, angry, defensive and frightened. We can often avoid the things that bring us pain and as time goes on that list gets longer and longer and our life can feel smaller and smaller. Reaching out for help can be the hardest first step, but it's also the bravest and will prove to be one of the best decisions you will make for yourself.

Finding the therapist that is right for you might like a feel daunting prospect, especially at a time when you may be feeling vulnerable or uncertain, perhaps at a crossroads in your life. This is not unusual, whether this is the first time you have sought therapy or have taken therapy in the past. Sometimes we need help to overcome conflicts and blocks in our life that are confusing or difficult . I understand that you are a unique and complex individual, with many facets and aspects that make you who you are, which impact on how you experience yourself, and how you have had to adapt to face life's struggles.

I am an Integrative counsellor and psychotherapist working with couples and individuals. I draw from a range of different ways of working that fits your needs, including EMDR if you're experiencing PTSD. It can feel daunting approaching someone to talk to about the problems you are experiencing. At some point in our lives we all experience distressing events, difficult feelings or relationships and a little support at those times can go a long way. Whatever you’re experiencing, you don’t have to face it alone.

Many people come to therapy when stress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, grief, or long-standing emotional patterns begin to feel difficult to manage alone. I offer online therapy for adults across the UK, providing a confidential and structured space to explore what feels stuck, overwhelming, or unresolved. You may be self-aware and thoughtful, yet notice that insight has not led to the clarity or change you want.

Life feeling difficult? Discouraged at how hard everything feels? I've been there. I can help you find the confidence to decide you want to be in life. Do you get an anxious knot in your stomach on Sunday, thinking about the week ahead? Yet you can't ever seem to work hard enough to calm that feeling. Does this spill over into your relationships at home or work and you find yourself irritated, angry or withdrawn? Do you want to make changes but you have no idea what, never mind where, to start? I can help you find your path. I work with and welcome all kinds of difference and am affirming of individual identities.

I have experience of working in both the private and voluntary sector, working with the anxiety, panic attacks, stress, depression, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, low motivation, shame, guilt, low self-esteem/confidence, work concerns, post-traumatic stress, childhood abuse
Hello, thank you for taking time to read my profile, in doing so you've already taken a step towards finding support. My training is in the person-centred approach, which puts the client at the centre of the work we do together. Aspects of the approach are valuing, being genuine, with the counsellor striving to understand your world and experiencing. In life there are times when it becomes hard to cope with the difficulties, worries that come along and we feel the need for someone to listen outside of our family and friends. I offer a confidential, welcoming, relaxing space where you can be yourself, one where we explore your needs.

There are times in our life when pressures mount up so much, that they really impact on the quality of our day to day living and our overall wellbeing. This may be caused by specific events such as a relationship breakup, the death of a pet or loved one, redundancy or our health. It could be more general such as the impact of Covid-19, unfulfilling relationships whether that be with your colleagues, parents, siblings, partner or your children. Or, you’re not sure what’s causing you to feel so fed up – you ‘should’ be happy. Building resilience does not eradicate the stress and anxiety of everyday life, but it does reduce the impact.

Hi my name is Lizzie, How are you feeling? unhappy, anxious, stressed, angry or depressed, or is there something specific you feel you would like to talk about. Life can be difficult and overwhelming, we sometimes struggle to make sense of our feelings and what is going on for us. We can get stuck and not know how to make life more comfortable. Although that first step can be nerve wracking and sometimes difficult, Counselling can be that first step to making that positive change. This is your time for you, to be listened to and understood and have the the world seen from your perspective, at a pace that is comfortable for you.

I have worked for over 2 years at a domestic abuse refuge with clients facing physical and emotional violence, legacy issues of self-worth, trauma, anxiety, guilt, grief, and relationship challenges affecting family, future partners, and friendships.
Dealing with the fundamental challenges of life can be difficult; work, family, relationships, anxieties, depression and many other issues that can have a detrimental impact on your well-being. Reaching out for therapy is the start of your journey and together we will address those issues. I will support you along the way to realise the harmony and contentment you so deserve. My purpose is to steer you to a place where you can feel at ‘one’ within yourself and your world, making sense of your experiences, and recognising how your interaction with others impacts not only what you feel, but importantly the way you respond.

Self Esteem Counsellors
When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?
When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?
Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?
Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?
Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
