I utilise a creative process with clients who present with a wide range of difficulties such as low mood, attachment or relational issues, trauma, psychosis, personality disorders, self-harming behaviours, low self-esteem and anxiety disorders.
I have experience of working with adults and young people, within the NHS, forensic services and CAMHS. I can offer individual or group sessions for children or adults. We will use paint, paper, clay and other materials to explore and process things in a different way to traditional talking therapies. Sessions can feel playful and fun as well as therapeutic.

You may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or carrying emotions that are hard to name. Perhaps you’re navigating identity, relationship tensions, cultural expectations, or long‑standing patterns that leave you unsure of yourself. Many people seek therapy because they want clarity, steadiness, and a space where they don’t have to explain their background or justify their feelings. You may be longing to feel understood, supported, and more grounded as you make sense of your inner world and move toward a more confident, connected way of being, with room to breathe and grow as you explore who you are becoming.

My ideal client is one of complexity; I plan on to enrol onto a Doctorate becoming a counselling psychologist. I am a qualified counsellor and my knowledge base started 15 years ago when I fell ill. I have had an eventful life, including heart problems, strokes and many other issues. Through therapies, self help and determination I am happy with my life and I would love to share my knowledge. I have specialised in complex bereavement over the past 6 years seeing clients face to face and supporting them through the hard times. There is a need for more LGBT counsellors that understand and help.

It can be hard to live in our own heads. Worries, fears, sadness and feelings of inadequacy can make it feel like we are swimming against the tide. Our psychological difficulties may have been with us for a long time or may have started more recently. Whatever our mental health concerns, psychological therapy is an opportunity to change our relationship with our minds: a place to learn the skills to cope better with what life may throw at us, and a chance to find the inner resources that we all have, to allow us to move towards living a more fulfilling life.

I also have a special interest in working with people with psychosis and unusual experiences and much of my pre-training experience was in this area.
We will spend some time getting to know each other to create a safe and relaxed space, to help you talk freely about your experiences. We may talk about what has brought you to therapy, as well as what is important to you and what you would like from the sessions. I will be interested in hearing about various different aspects of your life.

I am a qualified Integrative Therapist and member of BACP and NCPS. I am also qualified DSL ( L5 Delegated Safeguarding Lead) and work for the crisis team. I have been working in the charity sector for more than 15 years. My life experiences with Mental Health Illness have made me value how important it is to share those experiences and to be guided on how to face those fears. I also realised how Mental Health Illness can affect day-to-day life: stigma, pressure, lack of understanding of different aspects of culture. Backgrounds and gender can contribute to how we cope or do not cope with all those challenges.

How would you feel if I told you that you can stop feeling scared, unsafe and overwhelmed ? That you could connect with those around you in an authentic and meaningful way, rather than masking yourself because you fear losing them ? I can tell you this as I have supported many people like yourself, living with complex trauma to let go of the patterns that are keeping them low, anxious, dissociated, paranoid and lonely. I work with people just like you to firstly understand what has happened to them and how the strategies they are currently using have come to be. I then work to introduce new ways of being in the world.

Are you looking for a safe, creative space to explore what might be troubling you, causing you pain, or blocking you from moving forward in your life? As a creative therapist, I provide a supportive space where you can express and understand yourself and your relationships in new and helpful ways. I hold the present and future as important as our past experiences and offer dynamic, forward-looking, collaborative and creative therapy for individuals wanting more from life. Finding the right therapist is essential for successful therapy. That’s why I start all my work with an initial non-committal meeting.

We all need help from time to time, and you shouldn't be embarrassed for asking for it. I am a down to earth and compassionate person, who understands what it is like to need a boost. In my years I have truly heard it all, and my biggest goal is to empower rather than judge my clients. One of my favourite quotes comes from Marisa Peer who explains that “to be happy you have to make peace with your past, love the present and feel so excited about the future”. No problem is too big to solve and I have witnessed counselling change the lives of so many people and I know I can help change yours too.

What’s the most effective treatment for psychosis?
The most effective treatment for psychosis is coordinated specialty care. In this model, a team of professionals works with a patient to address all aspects of the underlying disorder. This approach incorporates individual or group therapy, employment and education support, family support and education, medication management (which often involves low doses of antipsychotics), and case management to facilitate problem-solving as needed.

When should people seek treatment for psychosis?
People should seek immediate treatment at the earliest indication of psychosis. Symptoms include delusions, hallucinations, disorganized or blocked speech, and agitated body movements. Early signs that a person may be developing a disorder that will lead to psychosis include suspiciousness of others, memory problems and distractibility, an inability to think clearly, rapid or nonsensical speech, withdrawal from friends or family, aggression toward others, and sensitivity to bright lights or noises.

What if psychosis is left untreated?
Without treatment, psychosis can have significant repercussions, including injuries, job loss, homelessness, financial or legal trouble, ruptured relationships, and suffering for the person and their family. While early treatment for psychosis often yields the best results, there is no point past which it becomes useless to seek treatment. At any point, treatment can make a difference.

How do I get someone else to seek treatment for psychosis?
It’s extremely difficult to watch a loved one suffer from hallucinations, delusions, and other elements of psychosis—sometimes exacerbated by their fears of treatment. Have a conversation with them in a quiet space and maintain a calm, supportive tone. Share your concerns about behaviors you’ve observed, suggest treatment, and explain the potential benefits. Listen carefully to their responses. The person may not be ready after one conversation, but with time, they may come around.
