I offer an open mind, a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space. I understand that clients may want direction from a therapist but I hold a strong belief in the potential of the individual to take control & change.

I work holistically with clients, helping them to tailor sessions to suit their unique needs. I help individuals and couples when they are looking for a way forward because their relationship has hit a rocky patch. When they find that they need a helping hand and a professional to listen to them. Using my coaching skills I can help with strategies for reaching goals and improving performance at work and home. For couples who are thinking about parting or divorce, help with taking them through alternative ways to think so changes are made. Always aware of it being their session and safe space, for reflecting their decisions.

I work with individuals, couples and families that need to face a trauma, a loss, problems of anxiety, depression, fears or relational problems (such as couple conflict, emotional or behavioral problem in a child, alimentary disorder, relational closure in an adolescent). Working together will help everyone finding new energy to change and when everyone is involved in a transformation, it will be stronger and lasting. As an Italian psychotherapist I work in Italian and in English with the foreign community in UK. Sharing the experience of migration always helps to face a new life in a different country.

I have a broad range of experience, from working with non-verbal clients on the autistic spectrum, to those with learning disabilities, eating disorders, OCD and long term health conditions.
Hi, I am Shoshana. I am an Art Psychotherapist. Whether you are struggling to cope with current events or longer term unresolved feelings, I can help you explore the meaning of these emotions and how to process through them to become healthier and happier in yourself. By using art in the therapy, we can explore deep rooted causes for why we feel the way we do. Art helps us reach our unconscious voice that wants to be heard. Through developing a relationship in a safe and confidential space, I will help you explore what it is that you need to process.

With a professional psychology background (BSc, PgDip, MBPsS) I have worked with adult clients who have a history of domestic violence, child sexual abuse, learning difficulties and common mental conditions.
1 in 4 people are diagnosed with a mental illness each year in the UK. Indeed, 1 in 6 report to be living with anxiety and depression. As a mental health counsellor, my areas of expertise include a sound understanding of depression, self-esteem, anxiety and stress. If you feel that you are struggling with life's load or have, low self-esteem, a persistent sadness, burnout or other emotional strain and need someone to talk with, I offer a non-judgemental approach to listening. Integrative counselling describes my overall modality and provides the basis for the format I use in developing a therapeutic relationship with clients.

Education and Learning Disabilities Counsellors

How effective is treatment for learning disabilities?

When initiated early and tailored to a child’s specific needs, learning disability treatment can be quite effective at helping a child cope with their disability, though its exact efficacy may depend on the severity of symptoms and whether comorbid disorders exist. Less is known about treatment initiated in adulthood, but it is certainly possible that an adult with a learning disability will see some improvement—or at the very least, identify workarounds and accommodations that could make symptoms less burdensome in day-to-day life.

When should someone seek treatment for learning disabilities?

It’s best to seek treatment as early as possible. Because learning disabilities often go unnoticed until a child starts school, or even until they’re a few years along, regular check-ins with teachers and doctors can help parents determine whether children are meeting milestones and keeping up with peers or whether an evaluation for learning disabilities may be warranted. And although earlier is always better, it’s never too late to be evaluated for learning disabilities and to seek treatment.

What happens if learning disabilities are left untreated?

Undiagnosed and untreated learning disabilities can be a source of significant frustration and shame for a child, who may feel that their challenges stem from a lack of intelligence or willpower. Such feelings can trigger low self-esteem, depression, or anxiety, which may push a child toward risky behaviors, including substance use. In adulthood, untreated learning disabilities can interfere with career success, and lingering feelings of self-doubt and shame can negatively affect someone’s mental health.

Are there medications for learning disabilities?

Currently, there are no medications designed to treat specific learning disabilities such as dysgraphia or dyscalculia. However, someone with a learning disability may be prescribed medication for a comorbid condition, such as anxiety, depression, or ADHD, which may have positive downstream effects on their learning disability; for example, a child with both ADHD and dyslexia may find that they’re better able to focus on their reading exercises after being prescribed a stimulant medication.
