If you need someone to talk to, I am here to listen. You may be feeling depressed, anxious or stressed, or that something is not quite right in your life. You may have feelings, thoughts and emotions that you feel unable to share with those around you. You may feel at sea in the noise of life and have lost sight of what makes you, ‘you’. It can feel overwhelming because you cannot hear your own thoughts. You will have the time and space in therapy to hear yourself think and to process your experiences and feelings.

At a loss on how to best support you child with their mental health and behaviours? All behaviour served a purpose even supported at some point in life. This may no longer serve now, but still repeats, and now hinders relationships to others and self. Art therapy enables exploring the art work together to discover their journey to wellness. Achieved with a short term, goal based intervention. I work with schools to provide therapy on site to support ease of access and prevent disruptions. Providing tools and resources to help regulation, recognise own needs and how these can support external to the therapy room.

People often come to therapy when they’ve reached a point where simply “pushing through” is no longer working. This might show up as ongoing relationship difficulties, a loss of connection with self or others, challenges with self-image or identity, or repeating patterns that don't seem to shift. In our work together, we explore what sits beneath recurring patterns while also developing practical tools to manage life more effectively, relate differently, and make changes that feel meaningful and lasting.

Many of my clients come to therapy feeling emotionally exhausted. You may often describe feeling stuck, overwhelmed, misunderstood or carrying the weight of difficult past experiences that continue to affect you. You might understand why you feel the way you do, yet still find yourself repeating the same patterns in your relationships, work, or daily life. I provide a collaborative, reflective and trauma-informed therapeutic space where you can slow down, make sense of your experiences, and explore what might be keeping you stuck. I tailoring therapy to your unique needs rather than offering a one-size fits all.

Have you realised that you may have been raised by a narcissist? Do family dynamics create stress and anxiety? Are you a people-pleaser and a perfectionist who feels that nothing is ever "good enough". Are you exhausted? Do you feel you are guilt-tripped, manipulated and gaslit, which causes you to doubt yourself, lack confidence, feel shame and sadness? If so, I would love to support you. I offer counselling for adults of narcissistic parents who want to better understand themselves, build healthier boundaries, find the courage to say "No", and "enough", develop self-worth, and feel calm, confident and in control.

Psychoanalytic Counsellors
Does psychoanalytic therapy work?
Psychoanalytic therapy derives from the work of Sigmund Freud. In this type of therapy, discovering buried thoughts and emotions from the unconscious will help a person work through their difficulties and negative behaviours. Research shows that psychoanalytic therapy can be highly effective, with patients reporting improvement in mood, quality of life, and overall well-being.

How long are people typically in psychoanalytic therapy?
Traditional psychoanalysis is in-depth and is conducted in five sessions every week. Today, modern psychoanalytic therapy is less intense and normally incorporates as few as one or two sessions a week. In some cases, positive change can occur quickly. However, if the condition, difficulty, or behaviour is deep-seated, improvement may require many months or years of therapy.

Is psychoanalytic therapy suitable for young people?
Children and adolescents can benefit from this type of therapy. Many kids and teens are often unable to form and communicate their thoughts and emotions. Psychoanalytic therapy uses specific techniques such as dream analysis, symbolism, and free association or word association; all of which can be useful tools for less-communicative young people. Through this therapy, a patient will hopefully make connections between what they feel inside and how the world works outside.

Can psychoanalytic therapy be done online?
Modern-day psychoanalytic therapy is very different from traditional psychoanalysis. While an individual can sit face-to-face with the psychoanalyst for multiple sessions a week, they do not have to. Today, psychoanalytic therapy can be effectively conducted online or by phone. The key is that the individual confronts what is repressed and avoided, and this can be done whether in person or over online video.
