I offer therapy online and face to face in Backwell, Bristol.
Hi, I’m Sharon, a BACP-registered therapist. I support women experiencing anxiety, overwhelm, low self-worth and the lasting impact of childhood trauma or emotionally demanding relationships. You might feel exhausted from holding everything together. Perhaps you overthink, people-please or struggle to set boundaries, while feeling disconnected from who you really are. On the outside, you may appear capable and coping. On the inside, things can feel heavy, confusing or too much. I work with women who want to feel calmer, clearer and less anxious. Therapy with me offers a warm, safe space to connected back to yourself again.

Life is hard, relationships are harder. People are not broken — they're adapting. We are shaped by what we go through, not just what we are told. Pain, loss, trauma, disconnection, and difficult relationships don’t just stay in the past — they show up in how we think, how we feel, how we relate, and how safe we feel in the world.

Sessions after are £50 online across the UK and £55 in person based in North Bristol.
Here to support you through many different issues. I have helped people who are struggling with a sense of what I call ‘stuckness’, in their life. Are you feeling trapped in a job that doesn’t inspire you to get up every morning? Are you feeling imprisoned in life’s routine and experiencing a sense of emptiness, but are unsure of how to fill that void? Are you quietly asking yourself, ‘Who am I?’ You are not alone. I have supported people with these difficulties. In a world that seems to be telling us how to look, how to act and even how to feel, it’s no wonder we can find ourselves feeling lost and confused. I can help.

If you change nothing, nothing changes but it can be hard to know where to begin. I feel it starts with you being heard and valued. Having your story and your feelings witnessed and validated is extraordinarily powerful and provides the catalyst for change. You will gain a clarity and a sense of perspective as well as an understanding of why you behave in the way you do. Talking to me will feel different from talking to a friend or family member. I will offer you insights and reflections, not opinions or solutions. I am interested in you and your experiences and they matter to me, but as I'm not involved I can remain objective.

Appointments are online across the UK and in person from Wellington, Somerset.
You may be someone who has learned to function under sustained pressure. Responsibility comes easily; asking for help does not. Over time, this can leave your nervous system exhausted, vigilant, and stuck in survival mode. Many people I work with are highly capable and dependable, managing a great deal while outwardly functioning well. They often reach out not because everything has collapsed, but because something has become unsustainable. Sleep may be disrupted, anxiety constant, and the body may signal distress through pain, digestive issues, fatigue, or flare-ups that no amount of effort seems to resolve.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
