I am a
psychoanalytic
psychotherapist working in an eclectic and relational way. This means that I can help you identify repeated patterns which are in the way of living your life to the full and are often linked with unresolved issues from the past. I enter into a dialogue with my clients and I am an active part in the therapy relationship, while at the same time facilitating an open and non judgmental space for exploring the difficulties that have brought you to therapy. Research has shown that building a good therapy relationship is the key factor for positive therapy outcome. I work in an open ended way.

My therapeutic approach is mainly relational with a
psychoanalytic
theoretical base.
I am a qualified Psychologist and psychotherapist from Brazil, and I am very passionate about therapeutic interventions that vary from deep psychological interventions based on the client's history and memories, to an emphasis on the relationship between therapist and client, including their cultural context and systems. I am also very interested in using symbolic representations and meanings in the therapeutic setting to assist clients on their reflections and self-awareness. I have worked in a variety of settings including psychiatric hospitals, voluntary LGBTQ organisations, as well as the private and educational sectors.

A
psychoanalytic
approach takes account of unconscious influences, which can limit us and cause suffering in ways we are unaware of.
If you are feeling anxious or sad, frustrated or just stuck, it helps to talk - but it can be hard to share with those closest to us. Psychotherapy, with an attentive listener, in a confidential environment, offers a unique space to open up a different view - somewhere you can examine your life and relationships both past and present, think about what shaped you, what is going on now and what you want.

As a registrant of the British
Psychoanalytic
Council and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I have acquired a wide range of experience in the NHS, private and third sector.
Sometimes life can hurl difficulties our way and leaving us feeling conflicted, confused and depleted and at other times our thoughts and feelings may seem out of balance to the event that triggered them or do not seem to begin from anything specific at all. I work with you in a confidential space, where you can speak freely about what is troubling you, providing you with support and security, such that you no longer have to struggle on by yourself. My areas of expertise lie in treating anxiety, depression, traumata, loss and fertility concerns.

Psychoanalytic
(and psychodynamic) psychotherapy aims to go deep into your emotions, with the aim of gradually removing distress.
My goal is to provide you with a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space in which you can open up and really talk about what's on your mind. With the help of therapy, we can work through the distressing and overwhelming feelings of depression, trauma, anxiety, worry, stress, and any other difficulties you might be experiencing.

I work in a
psychoanalytic

…. when things are too much or too little and you need someone who will listen without judging you. I aim to facilitate a space where you can feel heard, understood, freely talk about what is on your mind. My work focuses on understanding your inner world and helping you to get to know yourself in a safe, confidential space for a more positive perspective in life, more gratifying relationships, more insight into yourself, to work more deeply on your past and present difficulties. You might be wanting to offload and unburden yourself from the pressing issues, stressful life events, your worries or feeling stuck.

I am a Psychoanalytical Psychotherapist and a registered member of the BPC (British
Psychoanalytic
Council) and the Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists.
I offer a service to children, adolescents, and young adults to allow them to begin to understand and explore how their past experiences have impacted on their lives, to be able to regulate their emotions and behaviours in order to cope with life’s challenges. Often the problems experienced are related to or are the result of past traumas or even just finding it hard to cope with life generally with all its pressures and difficulties. I can also see families and parents who can sometimes struggle to understand the problems facing them as a family unit. I am offering a safe and non-judgemental space, where we can begin to understand

I am a
Psychoanalytic
Psychotherapist who works in the London Victoria area. My training underlines my belief that sometimes our experiences can leave us feeling insecure or lacking in confidence, making it difficult to form or sustain healthy relationships or cope with everyday life. Talking this through with a psychotherapist can help you to understand and value yourself more. It is not the job of a psychotherapist to tell you what to do but to offer you different perspectives and a different experience of relating.

I am a
Psychoanalytic
Psychotherapist , trained in Attachment theory from the Bowlby Centre.
If you have suffered trauma in your earlier life, or are having difficulty coping with day to day life, due to feelings of depression and or anxiety and want to explore what is underneath these problems and what may have contributed in the past to keeping them going and are keen to better understand the hidden parts of yourself then I feel I could be of help to you. If you feel that the very earliest relationships in your life, going right back to being an infant have been damaged in some way and have created barriers for you in forming new relationships, then I think we will have space and time to work together on these.

Are you struggling with your sense of self, your relationships and how you relate to others? Do you feel stuck in unhelpful life patterns and something gets in the way of you fulfilling your potential ? Psychotherapy can help identify unhelpful patterns in relationships and how unconscious dynamics can be rooted in the past. My approach would be to work with you to develop more understanding of underlying emotional conflicts and examine new ways of relating in your personal and professional life

I am happy to answer any question you may have to help you decide if
psychoanalytic
psychotherapy is the right approach for you.
I am a psychologist and registered psychotherapist. I work with a psychoanalytical approach also known as talking therapy. People come to Therapy for various reasons such as: anxiety, stress, depression, sadness, procrastinations, panic attacks or other issues. Perhaps you are struggling understanding why you feel the way you do. You may wish to explore how you got where you are now in order to find your own solutions.

I am an Analytical Psychologist and an Attachment-based
Psychoanalytic
Psychotherapist.
The choice to start psychotherapy may come for a variety of reasons. Becoming aware of repeating patterns of behaviour, struggling in personal and professional relationships, coming to terms with a particular traumatic event, or with feelings of depression, lack of purpose and meaning. Ultimately, there will be a unique reason for each person. Whilst my work takes into account the influence of the past onto the present, it also places as much attention to the future and to the fact that in the present psychological suffering there may be the potential for a meaningful new direction.

Does psychoanalytic therapy work?
Psychoanalytic therapy derives from the work of Sigmund Freud. In this type of therapy, discovering buried thoughts and emotions from the unconscious will help a person work through their difficulties and negative behaviours. Research shows that psychoanalytic therapy can be highly effective, with patients reporting improvement in mood, quality of life, and overall well-being.
How long are people typically in psychoanalytic therapy?
Traditional psychoanalysis is in-depth and is conducted in five sessions every week. Today, modern psychoanalytic therapy is less intense and normally incorporates as few as one or two sessions a week. In some cases, positive change can occur quickly. However, if the condition, difficulty, or behaviour is deep-seated, improvement may require many months or years of therapy.
Is psychoanalytic therapy suitable for young people?
Children and adolescents can benefit from this type of therapy. Many kids and teens are often unable to form and communicate their thoughts and emotions. Psychoanalytic therapy uses specific techniques such as dream analysis, symbolism, and free association or word association; all of which can be useful tools for less-communicative young people. Through this therapy, a patient will hopefully make connections between what they feel inside and how the world works outside.
Can psychoanalytic therapy be done online?
Modern-day psychoanalytic therapy is very different from traditional psychoanalysis. While an individual can sit face-to-face with the psychoanalyst for multiple sessions a week, they do not have to. Today, psychoanalytic therapy can be effectively conducted online or by phone. The key is that the individual confronts what is repressed and avoided, and this can be done whether in person or over online video.
