I work with men with mental health issues around work, relationships, body-image and self esteem.
Are you struggling to feel happy in yourself, and feel like everything you try to make yourself feel better isn’t working? Perhaps your work life, food and exercise routines feel out of control, or that they’re running your life. Your intake of substances may be causing distance between your friends and family yet you don’t know how to stop. All this can leave you feeling isolated, alone and grasping for unattainable goals. On the outside, things may look OK but inside you feel empty, dejected with no sense of identity and a fragile self-esteem.

As a man of mixed heritage, I’ve been able to bring my understanding and experiences to the room and in my practice.
There is a freedom to art-making that is extremely powerful. It’s an incredible tool that is not only reflective, but healing too. As a fully qualified Art Psychotherapist, I support and encourage people to create and express their inner world, regardless of their ‘ability’ in a safe space without judgement. Art therapy also gives the opportunity for people to communicate where there isn’t a pressure to try and find the ‘right’ words. Instead, they can express in an instinctual way not bound to verbal language. People can bring themselves to this therapy that may have initially been difficult in a non-arts-based practice.

I'm a BACP registered psychodynamic counsellor working in private practice in Highgate and King’s Cross. I work with adults and adolescents in-person and online. You may seek counselling to help with a current issue, such as a bereavement or a relationship breakup, or long-standing issues, such as addictions, childhood trauma or chronic depression. With this in mind, I offer short and long-term counselling. I also have a special interest in men ’s mental health and in 2017, I founded and was the leading facilitator of a men ’s group that supports men who are facing challenges with their mental health.

Anxiety, depression and men 's issues are far more common than you might think.
I specialise in anxiety, depression and men 's related issues such as barriers to intimacy and relationship challenges. In psychotherapy sessions I provide a confidential setting that encourages you to reflect on your journey. We will explore the feelings, emotions and impact significant events have had on the way you experience day-to-day life. We will work through your thought process moving towards the version of you that you've always wanted to be. Who is that person? Are they confident in themselves? And most importantly, do they allow themselves to smile, laugh and be happy?

I am experienced in supporting LGBTQ+ clients, particularly gay men .
I am a transactional analysis psychotherapist and counsellor. I always appreciate that it takes courage to seek support and the first step can seem daunting. Therapy can help to organise your thoughts and feelings and free you from repeated patterns of behaviour that prevent you from leading a happier and more fulfilling life. You can learn to understand why those patterns are there and how to change them, so that they no longer control what you are trying to achieve for yourself. Following the pandemic, I work online and face to face (depending on availability of space). The virtual setting is calm, confidential and safe.

Sometimes, people have come to me to explore their gender identity; often, gender identity is not the focus of the work, but knowing that I am a trans man can help clients feel a level of safety as a starting point.
I trained as an Integrative Counsellor at the Minster Centre in London. Being integrative means that I draw on several different therapeutic approaches. These may include ways to help us to make sense of your current patterns of relating to others and yourself in terms of past experiences; It may involve ways to understand how painful memories can be locked away in your body. I also bring an appreciation of the socio-political context in which we live, and the impact of structural oppression, particularly on people with minoritised experience.

I work with men , women and couples with relationship issues.
Over the last 14 years I have helped many people achieve a sense of well being, integration and wholeness in their personal & professional life. I can help you achieve the same. Life does not need to be a struggle. The process begins with you taking that scary first step to have an initial session or even just to call me to have a chat. In this first session or chat you can experience me and how I work and if we are a good fit, we can take it from there. I look forward to talking to you.

Counselling for men who don't want counselling ... Many men see therapy as a waste of time and money, a one-sided converastion, solely focused on feelings, with little opportunity for you to fix things yourself. You want to go it alone. The very notion of discussing your private life with a stranger makes you recoil. You really want to be okay. You really want to just have your life together. But you cant' seem to stop being moody, angry, agressive, jealous and, sometimes even, suicidal. You may be drinking too much, using drugs or gambling too much. Deep down, you're suffering and so are the people around you.

I work at depth and with you at your pace, I often work with women and men long term over several years.
Often the reasons given to me for arriving to therapy are about, anxiety, depression, sadness, self confidence, life changing illnesses, self identity, early childhood, past or present relationships, bereavements, traumatic experiences, and mental health diagnosis. How these issues and difficult feelings manifest in people's lives are unique and so they may be identified as problems or difficulties addictions; work, or daily activity; relationships; children and parenting; personal identity, questions of 'who I really am'; the 'state of the world', particularly climate and ecological anxieties.

How can I find a therapist in London?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or postcode; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or postcode into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In many countries, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counsellor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counsellors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counsellor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counsellors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
