If you decide to meet after, we can set up an initial consultation session in person or online.
I understand how it can feel challenging to begin work with a therapist, and I aim to create a space that feels safe, accepting and non-judgmental. I work closely with clients to understand their goals, so I can tailor treatment plans based on each client's unique needs. I focus on deepening my clients' understanding of themselves, with the goal of helping clients experience the sense of empowerment and freedom that often accompanies deeper self understanding. I have helped clients with a range of concerns, such as relationship difficulties, women's health, parental concerns, anxiety, life-transitions, grief and loss, depression

Myclient (s) would be couples or individuals who struggle in their relationships. Their issues would include communication, loneliness, depression, loss, struggling to find the couple after children, empty nest syndrome and many more. Their goals would be to understand the recurrent patterns that are putting strain on the relationship and resolve the underlying issues. Counselling and psychotherapy may involve exploring the past to the extent that it influences the present.

I have the ability to really sit and be present with adolescents and young people (up to the age of 25 years) and their families and consider their emotional experiences. They may be worried about life transitions, such as the next steps after leaving university or moving schools, or parental divorce. They may have social anxiety or had a traumatic experience. Rest assured that no worry is too big or too small to think about. Good emotional health starts with a safe place to talk.

You may be feeling worried, down, stressed, fed up, conflicted, confused, or simply wishing for change. It may feel difficult to manage life and you may have no idea why, or you might have some ideas. Perhaps you’ve had difficult experiences during childhood, adolescence or adulthood. Perhaps the thought of talking to someone feels a bit scary but better than keeping everything bottled up. You may wish to improve your relationship or relationships in general. Perhaps things happen in your life and you don’t understand why, or how. You might find that you’re drawn to distractions like the internet, or overspending.

Are you struggling with your work or intimate relationships? Is anxiety, depression or stress making life feel very difficult at the moment? Perhaps you feel that you, or you and your partner/family, need a bit of extra help to get through a difficult patch. I work in a way that is kind, thoughtful and optimistic about the possibilities for change. You may feel that you need a short course of therapy or you may be looking for something longer term - I believe in tailoring therapy to fit with people’s needs and this is something we can discuss when we meet for the first time.

"Depression is the common cold of psychopathology and has touched the lives of us all" (Dr Martin Seligman). In my 20 year experience as a CBT therapist I have learned that Seligman is right - everybody will experience at one point in their life depression, anxiety or another form of mental health problems. Some of us will manage on their own, some of us will need help. Seeking help for stress and mental health problems should not have any stigma attached to it - it is one way of dealing with the impact of living in an imperfect world.

It’s not unusual to feel unsettled and lost in uncertain times. Sometimes troubled relationships at home or work or from the past can bring low or anxious feelings that may prompt you to step back and ask yourself who you really are and what is the way forward. As an Existential Psychotherapist I can be with you to explore how is it for you to be you right now in the world in which you find yourself. What possibilities are open to you? What are your anxious feelings really telling you? How can you be OK with the feelings and situations that make you uncomfortable, or not knowing what the future holds?

I am a counsellor and psychotherapist who works with adult couples and individuals of all ages and backgrounds. I create a safe, non-judgemental space to listen and help you explore issues with empathy and compassion. My clinical framework is psychodynamic, meaning that I help clients consider how past experiences may relate to their current feelings, behaviour patterns and relationships, with the aim of uncovering the root cause of the problem. Our sessions will enable us to look together at your situation, paving the way for you to think about how things might be different.

I offer psychotherapy once or twice weekly both in person from my consulting room in Hoxton or Holloway online.
I am a UKCP-accredited psychotherapist providing short and long-term psychotherapy. I work from a psychodynamic perspective. This means that I attach importance not only to current experiences and ways of relating, but also to how these may be linked to earlier experiences - understanding the underlying nature of the behaviour and emotions which are causing difficulty or distress can help to relieve suffering and open up the possibility for change. I specialise in opening up space for the development of self awareness & a sense of meaning and purpose in your life in the midst of very bleak or anxiety-provoking experiences.

I have had the privilege of working with people who struggle with their mental health, for over 10 years. I completed my doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Oxford University. My background is rather diverse, having grown up in 6 different countries (Ethiopia, Cyprus, Zambia, Fujairah, Germany and England). As a psychologist, I have lived and practiced in England, China and most recently in Mexico. I have worked with people across the life span, with children, families and couples. I also have extensive experience working with children and adults who struggled profoundly in their early attachment relationships.
