Life can sometimes feel overwhelming - whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or adjusting to big life changes. My role as a clinical psychologist is to provide a safe, compassionate space where you can share openly, without judgment, and work towards feeling stronger and more balanced. Our sessions will usually be 50 minutes online (video), where you’ll be supported to talk through your challenges in a safe, confidential space. My goal is for you to leave each session with greater understanding and a sense of progress, no matter how small.

I often work with people who are feeling anxious, depressed, stuck, or overwhelmed. Many have developed creative ways of coping that once kept them safe, but now feel painful or limiting. For some, this can involve pushing feelings aside, holding parts of themselves back, staying busy or avoiding looking too closely at what feels uncomfortable, leaving them feeling disconnected from themselves or others. A central part of my work is supporting people to navigate opposing truths, as both therapy and life can involve balancing hope and despair, comfort and challenge, fragility and strength, safety and risk, holding on and letting go.

Life itself is complex and through no fault of our own brings up many challenges that can lead to worry, anxiety, self-criticism, stress and low-esteem to name a few. As a clinical psychologist, I am flexible in my approach and work with a range of difficulties. I strongly believe therapy can be such a rewarding experience and the importance of creating a safe space in offering a non-judgemental and compassionate place for a person to feel heard and understood as we work together towards what is important to you. As such, issues relating to past or present, it is a space to create self-awareness and further move towards your values.

I’m Pritesh Joshi — a CBT and EMDR therapist helping high-performing people break free from emotional overload, trauma, and silent burnout. I work with professionals who seem “fine” on the outside… but feel quietly overwhelmed, disconnected, or emotionally flat on the inside. I’m not the kind of therapist who just nods and asks, “And how does that make you feel?” Clients often tell me, “You actually get it.” That’s because I believe therapy shouldn’t feel clinical or cold — it should feel like a grounded conversation that actually helps you move forward.

Sometimes things in life can start to seem overwhelming; the useful strategies of the past may not be as helpful as they used to; we can find ourselves lost and unsure. This can often lead to added, despair, anxiety, and self-criticism. It can often seem hard to see a way out or to ask for help. You may need someone to listen without judgement and provide insights into understanding patterns in your life. You may also desire strategies to change your actions and the way that you think about things. The way to a fulfilling and valued life is available without a life-long commitment to therapy.

I am trained by BiDBT and offer DBT (both 1:1 and skills-only), CBT, ERP, person-centred, and integrative therapy.
I help people untangle complex thoughts, emotions, and patterns of behaviour that feel hard to manage on their own. My work is thoughtful and practical, with a focus on understanding what keeps things stuck and developing tools that support real change in everyday life. I also offer support to expats navigating major life transitions. As an expat myself, this is an area I’m particularly invested in and well placed to support, whether you’re adjusting to a new country, identity shifts, or the emotional impact of living between cultures.

I work with people who are trying to making sense of their place in the world, trying to answer questions of meaning, purpose and identity. If you're considering therapy, you may know what you want to work on, but feel stuck, frustrated, or in need of some support. You may know that something's not right but not know where to start. This may coincide with feelings of anxiety, depression, stress, or burn out. Psychotherapy is a space for you to discuss what's on your mind in a non-judgemental collaborative setting. This is a chance for you to tell your story, and make sense of what it means.

Hi, I’m Rachel. I am a BABCP-accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with a genuine passion for helping people navigate life’s challenges and feel more in control of their emotional wellbeing. CBT is a well-researched and effective approach, but what really matters to me is creating a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported. I take a compassionate and collaborative approach—working with you to understand what’s going on beneath the surface, and helping you develop the tools and confidence to make lasting changes.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) Counsellors

Do I need exposure and response prevention therapy?

Many clients decide to seek help for obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviours when these symptoms are distressing enough to disrupt everyday life. Any thoughts or behaviours that cause friction in close relationships are also worth addressing. In addition, the client’s symptoms don’t have to be severe for them to benefit from ERP therapy.

Is exposure and response prevention therapy part of cognitive behavioural therapy?

Exposure and response prevention is one specific type of CBT that focuses on behavioural change in response to triggering stimuli. It is related to exposure therapy but adds an additional component of preventing compulsive and harmful responses.

How long does exposure and response prevention therapy take?

While every patient is different, exposure and response prevention therapy typically lasts around 12 sessions, although some treatments can take longer. A therapist will determine if the treatment is complete based on how the client faces their fears, particularly the strongest ones. When a client feels less anxiety about stimuli that once evoked terror or distress, that is generally an indication that they are nearing the end of ERP therapy.

What are the limitations of exposure and response prevention therapy?

The most common pitfalls of exposure and response prevention therapy include not addressing a client’s core fears, allowing the client to avoid their most distressing stimuli, and using imaginary exposure when the client requires real-life exposure (and vice versa). ERP therapy is most effective when the client commits to the full course of treatment; if the client stops early or doesn’t practice what they have learned outside of therapy sessions, they are less likely to have successful outcomes.
