I have lived & worked in London most of my life. I am an experienced & qualified psychotherapist/coaching psychologist mostly working with a mix of
cognitive
behavioural therapy
CBT
& Psychodynamic theory. I have seen countless clients improve with these techniques over the years. I work efficiently to reach goals quickly, valuing time, cultivating motivation, and improving clients' sense of control. Most importantly, my role is active and seeks to first establish what the problems are, focusing therapy around these issues, and targeting them directly. I find this far more effective than relying solely on talking and listening.

Perhaps you feel stuck in life, anxious or depressed. Maybe your past, currant circumstances and struggles, traumatic events and worries about the future holding you back from fulfilling your potential. You might feel lonely and isolated. Therapy offers safe, non-judgmental and unique space where you can explore all the factors which might cause you distress and help you find coping strategies and ways how to overcome your difficulties. I am a Polish speaker so we can have therapy in Polish if you find easier to express yourself in this language.

I am a qualified BACP registered counsellor and clinical supervisor with extensive experience working with people from all walks of life , ages and cultures. My work focusses on enabling people to find more confidence , joy and clarity and to help them create the life they want to live - whatever that looks like for them. We lived in a highly stressful time and it can be very easy to become anxious and depressed which without help can lead to feelings of helplessness and despair. Therapy offers a safe space to explore those difficult feelings, and often bringing those dark thoughts into the light can bring some relief.

Whether it’s being caught in endless worries and ‘what ifs’, having painful memories of difficult past experiences, or going through a transition that has you feeling a little lost, life has a way of throwing things at you that increase anxiety, low mood, demotivation and impact relationships. This might affect you physically, increasing stress and tension, disturbing your sleep and appetite or preventing you from living a life that feels aligned with what’s most important to you. I am here to provide you with a safe, non-judgemental and encouraging space in which to understand and navigate a way out of this.

Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) Counsellors
How does cognitive behavioural therapy work?
Cognitive behavioural therapy works by exploring how your thoughts affect your emotions and experiences. CBT helps you identify distortions in your thinking. For example, you may tend to jump to the worst case scenario (catastrophizing) or think in extremes (all-or-nothing thinking). A therapist can teach you how to push back against those thoughts to ultimately change your feelings and behavior for the better. They can also provide coping skills to better deal with stressors and challenges.
When do I know to seek treatment with cognitive behavioural therapy?
It’s reasonable to consider cognitive behavioural therapy if you struggle to manage difficult emotions or behaviors to such an extent that you are not getting the most out of life on a day-to-day basis. If you want a shorter term, concrete, skills-based approach, CBT is a great option. (By contrast, other types of therapy may devote more time to exploring your past and its effects.) The decision to seek CBT also depends on the condition you’re treating; CBT is an effective treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma, and many other disorders.
How can I find a cognitive behavioural therapist for someone else?
To find a cognitive behavioural therapist for someone else, you may want to begin by discussing the person’s problem, researching cognitive behavioural therapy, and assessing whether the approach is the right fit. You could then reach out to a few cognitive behavioral therapists in this directory, explain the scenario, have a consultation with those available, and determine who could be a good match.
Why is CBT such a popular form of therapy?
CBT has become a popular form of therapy because it is effective and accessible. Robust research has demonstrated that CBT is an effective treatment for many mental health conditions. And CBT can be learned in relatively few sessions, which means that many people can engage in the process, afford it, and see results quickly. It involves learning concrete skills such as disputing unhelpful thoughts; these skills can also be taught and spread widely.
