I help people who are feeling lost, in pain and increasingly unable to cope. I work with people who suffer from debilitating anxiety, depression and trauma and all of the many manifestations these can have in your life such as alcohol and drug abuse, eating disorders and self harm, relationship difficulties, social anxiety, codependency and suicidal thoughts and feelings. Clients I see often, above all else, just want some peace of mind. This often comes alongside self acceptance, healthy relationships with friends and family and a satisfying work life balance.

This culminated in a codependency with a narcissist, losing my wealth, sense of self-worth and my career with it.
I am a Certified Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Mental and Emotional Release® Therapy and Hypnotherapy. I am also Certified in Counselling Skills with COSCA. Ideally, I am looking for clients that feel "stuck", or have issues with past trauma, phobias and anxiety in which nothing seems to be working for them. I am also able to work with Narcissistic Abuse and I have been in a co-dependent relationship myself. My background prior to this is in Computing. I live in Glasgow, Scotland but happy to work with clients worldwide over telephone or video call.

*If you would like to work with me, please contact me initially by email only.* If something in your life keeps on repeating itself and you can't find a way to break the cycle, I can help. People come to me for support in figuring themselves out, and to look at whatever aspects of their lives are not functioning well. Many of my clients are Gender, Sex and Relationship Diverse (GSRD): LGBTQ+, kinky, non-monogamous and/or sex workers. Your identity may have no bearing on what you would like to bring to therapy - you may simply need to feel assured that you won't have to spend hours explaining things or debating your existence.

Hello and welcome! I am a qualified and fully accredited psychotherapist, working from offices in Central London (near Bond Street tube) and WimbIedon. I work with clients facing a range of difficult issues in their lives. This is usually long-term work, but can also be short-term depending on needs. For me, the journey of psychotherapy is about deeper self-knowledge so that you gain the confidence to reveal more of your authentic self in the outside world. It is a fascinating (though at times painful) journey to find your feelings, voice, strength and qualities.

At times, life can feel hard to manage. When this happens, it helps to have a space where we can be listened to, just as we are, so we can make sense of what's happening. You may feel anxious, stuck, trapped or hopeless - maybe something's missing but you can't work out what. Or something has left you reeling, but when you try and talk to friends and family, they say it's normal so you should "just be able to cope with it". Perhaps you feel isolated and alone, unable to engage with loved ones, overwhelmed by routine and responsibility or feeling like you have to look fine and be strong for everyone around you.

At times the challenges of life can make us feel overwhelmed and isolated and it may feel difficult to talk about our feelings and fears to those closest to us. Feelings of shame, guilt or not knowing where to start can add to the feeling of being alone. I offer a space in which to explore these feelings in a safe and confidential setting without judgement, where together we can begin to understand what brought you to therapy in the first place.

What therapy types help with codependency problems?

Both couples and family therapy and cognitive and behavioral therapy (CBT) can help with the relationship difficulties referred to as codependency. Such problems typically include inappropriate feelings of responsibility for a loved one’s destructive behavior, irrational patterns of thinking about such behavior, and family interaction patterns in which the needs of one troubled member override the needs of others in a household.

What happens in therapy for codependency?

Spouses and family members learn and practice how to interact and support each other in a healthy way without sacrificing their own needs or well-being. They learn the limits of their responsibility for their loved ones and correct faulty patterns of thinking and feeling that underlie codependent behavior. Individuals may be encouraged to nurture an array of social relationships and to cultivate their own talents and interests so that they develop a healthy sense of self outside the family.

How does therapy help a person or couple overcome codependency?

Therapy helps people establish healthy ways of being in a relationship. Spouses and family members learn how to nurture and support one another without sacrificing their own needs or allowing the needs of one person to dominate the dynamic. Individuals learn how to say no and set boundaries, and how to maintain their own identity and self-esteem. Therapy helps people understand that they are not responsible for the feelings and actions of others. It also helps individuals deal with the turbulence that can come from living with a person suffering from such conditions as substance abuse and mental illness.

What is the goal of therapy for codependency?

One goal of therapy for codependency is to alleviate feelings of responsibility for and correct irrational patterns of thinking about loved ones whose behavioral problems override the needs of others in a household. Therapy helps people establish healthy boundaries of behavior and speak up for their own needs in a relationship. In addition, people learn how to maintain a healthy relationship, one in which both parties give and receive equally and are able to retain their own identity.
