Cigna and Evernorth Counselling in London
With experience in palliative care and counselling settings, I have come to recognise that we can change profoundly through the therapeutic process. As I understand it, we are ever shifting throughout the lifecourse, yet sometimes frustrated by repeating moments of stuckness. As a BPC-registered therapist, with an MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy (Level 7) and psychoanalytically informed PhD, our work may involve developing awareness of both those internal and external obstacles to discover greater freedoms in life. My specialism is in supporting people with chronic illness, deep grief and loss.

Hi! I'm Laura, a Clinical Psychologist trained in the UK. I appreciate that choosing a psychologist can be a tricky task so am always happy to have a chat before agreeing to meet! I believe therapy is an active process where we work together to really make a difference to your life, whether that be by managing difficult thoughts and feelings, to taking action to improve challenges you’re experiencing. Therapy can also be useful to help you better understand how your mind works & why you are the way you are!

Something in your life wants to change — therapy is where that conversation begins.
Welcome. I’m an accredited clinical psychologist with over 20 years’ NHS experience, offering thoughtful, evidence-based therapy at your pace. I work online with anxiety, depression and trauma, providing a safe and supportive space to explore and make sense of what’s going on. I’m EMDR trained, CBT accredited, and HCPC registered. Together, we work to understand the difficulties you’re experiencing and develop new, more helpful ways of responding — not just to symptoms, but to the patterns beneath them.

For me, therapy works best when it feels like a real human relationship – professional, boundaried, & psychologically informed, but also warm & collaborative. My first priority is to help you feel safe enough to be honest (including about the parts you don’t usually say out loud).
We’ll go at a pace that’s manageable & make sense of what’s going on together rather than me “doing therapy to you.” I’ll bring compassion & steadiness, but I’m also not afraid to be direct when something matters in a way that’s respectful. The aim is always to help you understand yourself better & leave sessions with something useful to take into life.

As a therapist, my primary goal is to create a safe and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviour without fear of judgment or shame. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process, and my role is to help you identify and overcome the obstacles that are preventing you from living your best life. I approach therapy from a holistic perspective, recognizing that mental health is closely connected to physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

You’re overwhelmed and have a busy brain, perhaps you even wonder about being ADHD? But you're too busy to allow yourself the permission to take a break and think about it properly. You don't feel good enough, and beat yourself up for your mistakes. No wonder you're tired, snappy and unhappy at times, from the lack of rest, recovery and balance in your life. Imagine if you could get your zest for life back, to feel a sense of ease and peace, and calm that overwhelm. You would be more focused, efficient and effective, getting your work done in less time, with more time for fun with your family.

I work using a variety of therapy models, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and person-centred approaches. We will work together to form a safe space in which we can explore your issues and try to help you find a way out of your current difficulties. I view ourselves as constant works-in-progress and understand that sometimes we become stuck in life and unable to find ways forwards. We will work together to discover which approach or approaches best suit you in order to help you become unstuck from your current situation.

My clients often describe feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or exhausted by trying to keep everything together. They may notice recurring patterns of overthinking, self-criticism, or burnout and want to break free from them. They’re looking for evidence-based therapy that’s practical and supportive — a space where they can make sense of what’s happening and learn new ways of coping. Their goal is to feel more confident, present, and in control of their emotions and choices.

I’m curious about people, the things we feel and the connections we make, on our own, with others, in communities, and with our environments. How we get stuck sometimes, how we learn to survive and how we thrive and grow. I’m interested in the mind-body connection, processes of transformation, wild therapy and exploring queer family building.
I have experience with, and am passionate about working with GSRD (Gender sexuality and relationally diverse) folks and the LGBTIQA+ community. I believe in creating therapy spaces for queer and trans people where they are met in a place of understanding and support.

Starting therapy can feel daunting, and I understand what a brave step it is to begin this process. I aim to create a safe, non-judgemental space where we can explore what’s bringing you to therapy, including any feelings ‘stuck-ness’ or overwhelm that you may be experiencing.
We’ll work together to set meaningful therapy goals, and I’ll regularly check-in with you throughout the process to ensure the therapy is helpful and aligned with your needs.

Cigna and Evernorth Counsellors
Cigna and its healthcare division Evernorth provide behavioral health coverage though managed care plans and Medicare Advantage plans. Outside the U.S., Cigna provides insurance through Cigna Global Health Benefits.
Cigna and Evernorth HMO plans only cover services from in-network providers and require a referral from your primary care physician. EPO plans also utilize in-network providers but generally do not require a PCP referral. PPO plans offer the most flexibility and a larger network of providers, and may include some out of network benefits.
Occasionally Cigna or Evernorth Counsellors in London, England will only accept a limited number of in-network insurance patients in their practice, so it's important to check if your plan is accepted when you book a consultation.
Based in Connecticut, Cigna insures 180 million people in more than 30 countries around the world. Cigna rebraded its health services division as Evernorth in September 2021.
